Try Not to Click an Ad in Anger
So some of you may remember this battle from last year (exact same stunt, no communication, nothing)
But yeah, we now got big old ugly ads on the top of every page. Send your angry regards to FM once again

Re: Try Not to Click an Ad in Anger
Heh... I have a funny little addon for firefox that blocks ads from popping up in other windows and on sites...
Re: Try Not to Click an Ad in Anger
You do know that in the admin panel there is a thing that you can shut off ads.

Not anymore, but thanks for patronizing me
Re: Try Not to Click an Ad in Anger
Well, Typlo says it's just a test ATM, but I know they really wanna have ads on all the time (that and it's apparently in their contract with google) and then we have to pay to remove ads. Now you know what, I can understand, we get a lot of good stuff for free with FM, however, they don't communicate this with us. They don't give us any notice that ads will be appearing, they just do. And not only that, we can't control where the ads are placed. Cause I don't mind have ads at the bottom or something, but on top just makes us look like some cheap porno site or something
Re: Try Not to Click an Ad in Anger
especially with some of the ads.... :/ some are just... ugh... but ads have to be seen and whatnot
Re: Try Not to Click an Ad in Anger
You can make it so only staff can not see them, why not add us all to moderator, but remove the moderator rights? lol
Re: Try Not to Click an Ad in Anger
Than that doesn't make you a mod. And I don't know if that disables it for mods or just admins, thingy or Black man will have to pipe up so I can know for sure
Re: Try Not to Click an Ad in Anger
Yeah.........
In other news about the ads.
Justin Bieber does not have a crush on me, thats a lie, if he did he would be gay (not saying thats wrong, or anything, but yeah, that would end alot of little girls dreams, lol)
Cian did not send me a messenge, i never signed up for that sight.
I do not want a blow up sex doll, WTF do they think this site is putting ads on this site like that.
Edward is never going to be my lover he is Bella's lover, and i am not gay (again thats not wrong to be gay, i am not though) why does this site think i am a girl......
I am not the lucky visitor, i have gotten that on like 5 other sites, and also, there have been more than 100 visitors to this site, i am not the 100th
Shall i go on?
Come on FM, WTF does FM need to be so stupid.

yeh only guests and members see adds so if you add everyone to a group thats not auto subscribe we wont see them you dont need to give the group any privileges or anything
Re: Try Not to Click an Ad in Anger
With adblock, you can get it down to just a small line. No biggies, apart from forumotion being unnice people.

Re: Try Not to Click an Ad in Anger
And don't worry guys, I'm helping in the matter some. As I said to the FM guys, I understand ads, we get a lot of good stuff for free here, but the adds need to be more subtle, appropriate and we should be allowed to decide where on the page they go. And FM should communicate with us when they plan to do things like implement ads
Re: Try Not to Click an Ad in Anger
My goodness, people are being really immature about this over at forumotion
Re: Try Not to Click an Ad in Anger
What did you expect? Not many others are as mature or laid back about it as others are.
Re: Try Not to Click an Ad in Anger
I actually havent said anything yet over at forummotion.....but i am soon planning to.
Maby we should write a strongly worded letter to FM about this, who is with me, they cant stand the power of words, lol......like that would work.

Re: Try Not to Click an Ad in Anger
Yeah I know and I went through this a year ago too seeing everyone attack Forumotion over this. The thing I been trying to get the members there to understand is that until they stop attacking like children, forumotion won't even listen to legit suggestions about it

I think Fm has so many strongly worded letters currently that you would be lumped into the ignore list of immature children
Re: Try Not to Click an Ad in Anger
I bet you they enjoy the fact we don't go completely nutzo ballistic about it.
Re: Try Not to Click an Ad in Anger
Well I actually got a PM from one of the mods thanking me for my opinion and maturity on the matter

I must be the only person, who can see them, but doesn't Care.

Re: Try Not to Click an Ad in Anger
I see 'em when I'm at work, but I'm on so many sites that doesn't give you an option to block ads, it doesn't bother me much anymore
Re: Try Not to Click an Ad in Anger
I personally am fighting for more appropriate ads that don't interfere with the place making it look junky or anything and for the ads to be more subtle and for us to have the options to put it at say the bottom of the forum or something
Re: Try Not to Click an Ad in Anger
If the ads are to stay, then they better make them text only.

Re: Try Not to Click an Ad in Anger
Well so far there has been no official announcement about it and nobody seems to be able to get a hold of Typlo and even the Forumotion site staff have no idea what's going on. The only thing that is known is that three versions of what's going on has been said and Typlo briefly said yesterday to hang tight as it's just a test. But that's still nothing cause they did a "test" last year and yeah, ultimately no one knows what's going on at all.

Re: Try Not to Click an Ad in Anger
Typlo is the only actual Forumotion staff member that is also on the forum to my knowledge. I'm not entirely sure what his position in forumotion is, but I believe he is fairly high up in their ranks
Re: Try Not to Click an Ad in Anger
Just read his forum rank, it should tell you his position in FM.
