When do you start Christmas?
How Early?
So, now that halloween is over, I'd like to know people being to celebrate Christmas, for those that actual celebrate it of course. I like to start as early as possible so I already have my snow globes up and in the next couple of days will put up a few more things. I personally just love Christmas, it's one of those few things I actually get truly excited for. So yeah, post away!
Re: How Early?
We don't decorate our house until december the 1st, but my locla shopping centre has all it's christmas decorations up and my little fibre optic desk tree is out.

Re: How Early?
Yeah, most places are already decorated. Unfortunately it's because of commercialism and not the Christmas spirit, but oh well, one can always pretend right?
Re: How Early?
I don't even celebrate Christmas, but i still love it. And we do put up one decoration, an electronic Christmas chandelier. For some reason...

Re: How Early?
Yeah, religious meanings aside, I love Christmas for more than just it's Christian meanings. Actually it's quite interesting that so many celebrate it who aren't even religious, must just be the warm feelings of family and togetherness, kindness and cheer.

Re: How Early?
I will agree with you there DW.. There might be some sarcasm in there, but I celebrate it just because of the family gatherings.. Even with people who used to be family (no longer since the divorce of my mother and middle sister's father).. They still consider me part of the family though, which is great.. The presents and gifts are nice during christmas but sometimes, it just cheapens the meaning because some kids only look forward to christmas because of the gifts..
Re: How Early?
Yeah, I like the atmosphere. And to be honest, I don't really care for presents much. I like giving them, but don't really care to receive them

There was no sarcasm in there, I'm all for everybody celebrating Christmas if they want to
Re: How Early?
With internet, it's hard to tell the difference, and I'm tired.. >< I have insomnia, or so some doctor's tell me.. didn't mean to come off as rude or anything.. I'm glad you celebrate christmas the way you do.. I've told a few people now that the only gift I'd ever want would be no drama during christmas... it'd be a nice change of pace from the last year or 2.
Re: How Early?
Yeah, people and their drama. And no, you didn't come of as rude, I'm just blunt is all

Ehhhh, something. It could be a Camero or something as little as a jar of Peter Pan Peanut Butter. I'll keep you guessing on this one

Re: How Early?
Yes, most definitely yes, that movie is hysterical. I was hoping you had seen it because there's this great scene where Clark tries to light the lights on his house (all 20,000 of them), heh, I love that movie
Re: How Early?
hey maybe it'll be on next month or so.
id watch it in a hearbeat if it were on instead of the usual rudolph, charlie brown christmas, and frosty the snowman movies. i'm beginning to hate those childhood movies.

Re: How Early?
I celebrate it after thanksgiving
Anyway, the tree and some of the lights are still up, to lay to take them down, they usually stay up all year not very often do we take them down
More Convenient.

Yes. And re. lights: Yes. Did you see it in your capacity as a cinema (boo! Hiss!) worker, or on the TV?

We(as in me, every one lazy in my family) Need to buy them, we moved house, and didn't take them with us, mainly because there nearly 30 years old and some how still kinda work. I still haven't been asked to buy them yet, so we'll probably just celebrate it food, And presents.
