Scientists found out something about Video Games
Scientists found out...
It has been shown that action video game players have better hand-eye coordination and visuo-motor skills, such as their resistance to distraction, their sensitivity to information in the peripheral vision and their ability to count briefly presented objects, than nonplayers.
And...
According to research discussed at the 2008 Convention of the American Psychological Association, certain types of video games can improve the gamers’ dexterity as well as their ability to problem-solve. A study of 33 laparoscopic surgeons found that those who played video games were 27 percent faster at advanced surgical procedures and made 37 percent fewer errors compared to those who did not play video games. A second study of 303 laparoscopic surgeons (82 percent men; 18 percent women) also showed that surgeons who played video games requiring spatial skills and hand dexterity and then performed a drill testing these skills were significantly faster at their first attempt and across all 10 trials than the surgeons who did not play the video games first.
And Scientists think they found out that violent video games don't do anything to children, and that it depends on the child's behavioral structure.
And that most of the violent video games actually teach children to use weapons they never used before, and in games such as Fallout 3 they teach you how to survive a post - nuclear war world.
Yay video games for sub - consciously teaching us important skills! And improving many of our skills we'll use a lot!

not true. most of the violent games gives kids a shoot first and shoot all mindset, much like yours in that other thread. And i dont see how a kid will learn how to use a minigun or any other weapon from playing a game.

Re: Scientists found out something about Video Games
I wasn't saying it's true, just got these facts from Wikipedia...
In the original Fallout 3 it COULD'VE taught you to survive, in it were basic needs such as finding water, eating food, finding food, killing animals, etc.. Some rifles like the Hunting Rifle are really close to this hunting rifle my dad has and I know how to use it because of a video game ( Not Fallout 3 ).
The shoot first and shoot all thing you said depends on a child's behavioral structure, normally I wouldn't be like that, I'm dealing with a whole s*** load of crap right now. So I might disappear temporarily and may blow up real easy, I'm trying to stay calm, I'm mad at stuff RL right now...

Re: Scientists found out something about Video Games
It does happen. My school's wikipedia entry for ultimate frisbee is awesome.
"St. Mark's fields 47 teams at the freshman, junior varsity and varsity levels. The Spartans participate in: Baseball, Basketball, Cheerleading, Crew, Cross Country, Field Hockey, Football, Golf, Indoor Track, Lacrosse, Soccer, Softball, Swimming, Tennis, Track and Field, Volleyball, and Wrestling. Ice Hockey and Roller Hockey also exist as clubs.
Intramural sports participation is also an option. Some of these include Bowling. In addition St. Mark's fields what is considered by many to be the most prolific Ultimate Frisbee team ever assembled. They have earned multiple awards and have remained undefeated since first being founded in late October 2009."

Wikipedia is a generally reliable source but there are people out there who make it more awesome.
