A good language for a newb programmer
I'll be able to choose a specialization in the 2nd year of high school, and the choice is pretty obvious. Computers. The computer specialization course includes coding. I need to learn some coding early so i can get some extra grades, maybe choose Coding courses B and C later on. So, anyone know a good language to start with?

That is a good start for learningthe basics of programming and the syntax of codeing structure. (Programming is the thought, coding is the action). From ther move to PHP, then Python then anywhere.

So you're aiming to become an electrician? Sorry for asking all these questions, if you don't have an idea for a job at the end of the course, then just do what you feel like doing and just enjoy the three years.

Re: A good language for a newb programmer
Not really. The Electricity choice in year 2 will make you an electrician, and maybe give you access to higher learning, so you can become an electrical engineer later on. The computer course will give you the knowledge and CV needed to become an IT consultant, repair dude and it'll give you access to higher learning in the computer branch. I think you can choose Coding B and C if you're good enough, which'll give you a pretty good chance to continue studying coding. I think there's some design stuff in it too... But i'm not really sure.
There's 2 people in my class that want to go the electricity course. The rest are going the computer course. Not sure if we can choose the electronics course... No one's mentioned it, but it says you can choose electronics on the ministry of education's website.

Ahh, it's a very broad course. No worries, Dilbert.

Re: A good language for a newb programmer
Hands down, Python.
It's a simple, straightforward scripting language.
Don't bother looking around anymore, asking for different opinions. Python is the best for starters. (A lot of people tend to wait around thinking about what language to learn and loose their nerve to begin, so just learn python.)
DO IT!
(Consult google for tutorials)

Well, time to learn python then. If only to be able to go ''Say... Would you like to look at my python? I'm quite skilled with it. Been learning how to do some amazing stuff with it since my mid teens.''
