Roleplaying Game

Well, it's definitely about time that we had ourselves a new long RP. Big question, what should it be? Should it be our usual Star Trek themed one or something different? Everyone does seem to enjoy ones where we're all on a starship or something, but yeah, have any ideas please post!

Can't we try, you know, originality for once? Star trek is just boring, so is star wars. Maybe fantasy? Or some other sci fi universe? Perhaps a less known or even completely new one?

I was thinking something similar to New Order or something original myself.

well new order and insurrection were original. I don't think fantasy will really go so well but I suppose if someone came up with a good plot we could try it

Also i think that the New Order one got to confusing, it needs to be some thing that EVERYONE can follow, and i think we should have someone post a summary of every event in a locked thred.

we did. As for it being confusing, that is something that comes with our RPs, the more RPs we do, the more confusing it gets. It's like a law of physics or something. But, if you read every post and follow along and speak english, you should be all right. See most of people's confusion comes from the fact they're too lazy to read every post and I got no sympathy for those people

How about something less extremely-futuristic? Maybe something like a post-apocalyptic world like Fallout.

Well i have an idea............

In 2053, the world was in a state of war, as world war 3 erupts, nuclear missiles launched, it destoyed half the world, Now it is 2089, people only exist now in small colonies accept for the Empire wich raids the small colonies, its been 36 years since the wars, people are struggling to survive, a small group of people is traveling around the earth fighting the Empire and giving assistance to the poor, only they can save the day.

(I know its rough, but feel free to use my idea, you can change it around and stuff)

hmmm, maybe I can mix Toa's mercenary idea with a post apocolyptic, Resident Evil-ish type theme

Thsi isnt a gaming forum anymore is it? either way, if we were to base it off of some other fantasy world i was thinking possibly....a game?

well we had our long RPs long before we were a gaming forum

i know that, but if we are going to start something brand new its just something to think about.

I think, maby instead of an RP or a Flash Game, we should do something better, i dont know what, but something like a masive project..........i dont know........something that ties all of our ideas together, like a finger print for this forum, so when we are all gone, and new people inhabit this forum, they all remember were it started, (lol........forums dont usually last that long, but hey.its worth a shot)

we do all know that I'm just talking about one of those nice and easy story-telling RPs, not some big ol flash project or something

I know, i was sujesting other ideas aswell............i find that repeating ones self over and over is bad......as in doing the same stuff......even with difforent story lines.

There is so much wrong with that statement. For instance, say I became a filmmaker, in which my career was to make films. Naturally, I would make many films, each with different stories. Applying your logic, then that would be bad. I should make at best a couple movies then change careers.

im not really a fan of rp's but i do have kinda an idea for a rp. anyway so what about an assassin's creed based rp

well, you'd wanna get something that essentially everyone can play. For instance, everyone here has enough knowledge of Star Trek to partake in a ST RP (no I don't wanna do an ST rp). Thig with something like Assassin's Creed is that one, I don't even know what it's about, I don't know the characters, the style etc and I may or may not be the only one that way. And where I pretty much lead the RPs, if I have a good feel for it, it definitely helps

We had an SG one a long time ago though I wasn't really involved in it much. I don't think it did overly well, but I'm not so sure

SG, SW, ST the only sci-fi know.

any of them is fine with me.

we've done a bunch of ST, we have DOF for SW and we used to have SG

B5, I saw a few episodes of that, it's not hard to get up-to-date with B5 history.

no no, start thinking of original ideas, mixing themes together (not TV shows or games theme, I mean like genres type themes). For instance Philly said post-apocolyptic, Destral said something to do with space mercs or something and I'm saying an adventure style RP would be cool.

I have a thing for Modern combat, so maybe i could waste an hour coming up with a plot for it to be rejected.

ha ha, yeah, don't go into too much detail, just a couple generalized idea. If you're spending more than five minutes to develop an idea to propose, you're probably gonna waste your time. We do the detailed development afterwords

what about something like the storyline of TFU 2? not saying it will be about SW, but something along that line, but instead of one person, maybe its like a team or a faction or something.

example: team 1 is hunting for their enemies, team 2, but team 3 wants team 1 dead.

something of that nature maybe?

we're not doing Star Wars, or Star Trek. i don't know how many times I have to say that.

and if you took the time to read my post i said that it wasnt going to be set in SW.

How about, a Pre-WWIII world, America seem to be pulling all it's troops back from other counties, As dose Russia and many other super powers, the reason is unknown, A ' Crazy ' Russian General, deicdes this is time for Russia to rise again and invades America, before any one notices his army is already half way across America, and it would be imposable to call off.

So the Russian premier, gives the general a blank check and the whole of Russia invades America, while fighting small battles on the European and Asian borders. it is then realised the the reason why the worlds super powers were withdrawing was because a Huge asteroid, was inbound for Earth.

we play at the start of the war, maybe all the way to the end, ware we all get killed by the meteor.

I'm still voting Matrix Style.

We can have Agents, and the Good Guys. Darkwing could be "Neo", or the "One".
