Planet of the Damned
We cry in our hearts
The planet drums beneath us
It tears itself apart
I hold my blade and I hold my gun
As I cry within my heart
There's no way we're surviving
Yet our honor keeps our ground
We're bred to go down fighting
Til we hear the deadening sound
Our honor, our pride
This is all we have
Our weapons, Our hearts,
On this planet of the damned
I give my life for freedom
I give my soul for steel
The heat of battle pains me
The planet starts feeling surreal
The final countdown begins anew
As we fight for our women and men
Lava flows, ash brings the night
On this very damning planet of the damned
My pride and pain act as my sword
My rage and hate my shield
I strike with hope and fury
My violence shows how I feel
They took all of our hopes and dreams
We plan to do the same
We'll shatter hearts, by sword and truth
Their loss is still our gain
I give my life for freedom
I give my soul for steel
The heat of battle pains me
The planet starts feeling surreal
The final countdown begins anew
As we fight for our women and men
Lava flows, ash brings the night
On this very damning planet of the damned
The clouds fill with ash
And we're still kicking ass
But it's going to end very soon
The ground below us crumbles
As we fall to our deaths
In the wake of this dark afternoon
I give my life for freedom
I give my soul for steel
The heat of battle pains me
The planet starts feeling surreal
The final countdown begins anew
As we fight for our women and men
Lava flows, ash brings the night
On this very damning planet of the damned

Re: Planet of the Damned
I can see you have a passion for this kinda stuff.
If you really want to become a great poet, I suggest becoming apart of this site:
http://www.thepoetsanctuary.net/
BTW, and the spotlight and hall of fame are the best sections for reading material.

You are what you read. So read the good stuff.
Try to examine the artists work; their vivid descriptions, choice of words, syntax, and the emotions and moods you feel when you read their work.
Use a good dictionary and thesaurus. When a new word strikes you, don't just learn the definition. Master the word. Say it out loud, use it in a sentence, use it in conversation, and then use it in your writing.
It's a lot of work, but eventually you might become as good if not better than some of the people that get featured in the hall of fame. (AKA "Musing Folklore Legends")
BTW, when I first started lurking on that site, I thought I knew something about the English language. Once I started reading, I felt like I was being sent back to pre-school. LOL So be ready for surprises. Those people over there are amazing poets with high vocabularies!

Just because I suggested a site doesn't mean it's spam. LOL
If someone was dieing of cancer, and I knew a treatment that actually worked, and suggested it here on the forum, and posted a website where I could learn more about it, would you cry spam?
No, because I was actually helping the person I was talking to. Though not extreme, the same ideology applies to this.
Am I not right?

I think he meant Vortar's post.
Re: Planet of the Damned
Oh, sorry then shem. Give Vortar a kick in the pants for me then. K?
You're welcome! It's always good to see other people interested in creating this kind of art. Especially since a lot of people around our age don't reach out into creativity that much.
