MMOs
Massively Multiplayer Online Role-Playing Games, in other words. Does anyone here besides me actually play? (Well, I used to at any rate. I may play again if other people do.) I used to play MapleStory (highest character is level 50.) If anyone else is willing to play, then I will start playing again. Here's where to download the game. Simply sign up (with Gmail or Yahoo, preferably; Hotmail doesn't work) and download the game (it's free.) Then install the client, double click it (or right click-open.) Sign in, create a PIN number for your account, go to Broa server, and create a character there.
If you do already play MapleStory or want to play and have signed up, leave a message here with your IGN (in-game name.)
This can also be used as a topic to discuss MMOs in general.
EDIT- Oops, I forgot... Some of you who live in Europe might not be able to play. There is a different version for Europe. Here. Sorry Raffitz, no Portuguese...

Re: MMOs
What's the best MMO you have ever played, other than Maplestory? LOL. I've been looking for a good one.
Re: MMOs
Meh, that's the only MMO I've really ever played. I mean, Runescape? Community sucks and your account is hacked easily. WoW? I don't wanna pay monthly. I've been playing MapleStory since... August 2005? The community then was great; people are helpful and generous. But now, it's deformed into a cesspool of stupidity with hackers and emo kids. That's part of the reason why I quit/took HEAVILY extended break.

Re: MMOs
LOL. I played Runescape for a while too. Stick Arena is much better. (Look at the Flash Games section for more info.)
Re: MMOs
Runescape- Bad 3d engine, makes characters look like trees, need to pay to get any good benefits
Maple Story- 2d engine, therefore better. Runescape wins out on the money part though, in Maple Story, you almost have to buy stuff to be able to compete with others. Still, the community is friendlier. Lots of hackers, though.

Re: MMOs
LOL! Have you played stick arena though? It's pretty awesome, but there isn't like, any story line. That's what really sucks. Oh, and it's polluted with hackers. I have been forced to use the hack pack. I usually only use it for the anti-hack pack, and the kick hack programs. LOL.
Re: MMOs
I haven't ever played it, no. So what kind of game is it? Constant grinding to gain levels? No levels and kinda like Counter Strike?

Re: MMOs
It's all about getting to the next rank, having a low death rate, and a high kill rate. There is alot of strategy and skill in the game. If you played me, you would probably only get a few kills within a five minute period. I rarely lose.

That really sounds like a grinding type of game with a bit of CS mixed into it...

Re: MMOs
one that is good if you get lots of people is UO the free version that is before I got more active in this I was an admin on a server helping out there but it really died down sadly
Re: MMOs
Is it massively multiplayer? Is it online? And most importantly, is it a role-playing game? If it meets all three of those criteria, then yes, by definition, it is an MMORPG.

Re: MMOs
I tried a couple of MMORPGs- www.travian.com and some other thing that i decided to give up on. But if you're expecting them to be excellent, then don't get your hopes up- I chose them beacause they are free. I've heard Eve is good though, just that it's expensive and you have to download a lot and have plenty of RAM.
