Gel Packs

Is anyone else excited but worried about the new Star Trek Online? Im a little worried about the ship combat. I don't know how crewman and maintence will work, or if it will handle like bridge commander or what. Im just worried itll be weird switching from ship to first person. Any one else have anything to tell me? Btw Flash trek broken mirror 2 and 3 are looking really good, i like the menu set up on 3 much much better though, it feels so much more, trek like to me. You guys are great, my flashes suck.

Thank you for responding, Yeah, I agree, I player City of Heroes/Villians, and it was alot of fun, but that cannot compare to STO. I like some of the newer ship designs for the game, but i cant figure out if they included the destruction of Romulus or not, cause they have the Romulans in it. I wondered since Star Trek XI what the remaining romulans were up too.

yeah, i don't know that yet either. i believe they have been working in conjunction with the st09 team but not certain. and i think that's the first time i've been thanked for responding to a thread!

nah, we're a very general forum. we actually have a TOR thread around the gaming section somewhere methinks. TOR looks pretty cool too, at least by the cinematic trailer they released. You know, if they made a Star Wars movie in that style and like FU, then Star Wars might get interesting again. I still wish FU would be released for PC so that I could play it

yeah, i read that its coming out soon on wookiepedia and they did a 360 award update, so i got working on that. Im glad that your the cool kinda trekkies that like Sci Fi in general. I know alotta SW hater trekkies. Im excited to be on here now!

we actually spend very little trek time here. it's mostly become about stuff in general, but still appeals to sci-fi fans like me and a bunch of others on here.

maybe becuase all after voyager ships have gel packs in them

i don`t know only 2 ships designs after voyager ( Prometheus and Defiant ) so i am glad to see new ships

i dont care much for MMO's either. its probably pay to play

it is pay to play. and the only MMO's i can play are free and browser based.

Yeah i named it gel packs because my favorite ship design was the intrepid class. Favorite series has to be DS9 though, so it works, and most of the STO ship schematics mention the bioneural gel pack circuits in them, I think the NX-19001 has a newer version of them in it. Yeah, Its pay to play, cause its made by the people who did champions.

like world of warcraft why dont they have a free supscription and a premium account that you pay for

because the people who make world of warcraft are greedy. you have to buy the expansion packs aswell

Well, they added a ton of stuff to the game, it's obvious they want to get payed for it. Making and maintining WOW costs money, so they'll have to charge you for that too. And they obviously didnt pay that huge team to program and animate their arses off for nothing, so they'll want to make some profit, something they'll charge you for too.

And it doesnt cost that much anyways. 300kr for 2 months is nothing. It's like buying a new, cheap game every 2 months.

OT: I'll get the trial if they make one. If not, i'll read the reviews, and if they're good, i might get it.

I play gaia, its completely free, everything you would have to buy with real money you can get with gold on there. Yeah, im not huge on MMOs but i played Star wars galaxies, and i play console games online like GTA4, Halo 3, Gears of war 2, ya know? And thank you its nice too see you too!

one thing which i think can be assured is it gonna have a great story line as its set in the 25th century i think and theyre written like a bm 2.5 for it. bassically its gonna like be all about war ithink with klingons borg 8472 and others which will be cool

yes, i agree, a good example of a MMO that doesnt have great graphics, but has great quality(at least if you pay the membership) is Runescape, and its one of the most hated MMO's of all time. honestly, theres really only 2 things bad about it. 1) all the good stuff is P2P, but the price is extremely small, so it should be ok(except for me, my parents dont believe in wasting money on the internet) and 2) the graphics, which is why people have been hating on it ever since it came out, but in my opinion its actually a fun game.

and dont forget 3, the community. 2/3rd's of the community is made up of retards, arseholes, kids and people that could be classified as legally braindead.

All MMO's are repetitive... It's just grind, grind, grind and grind till you get the right level. Only difference between runescape and the more popular MMO's is that while runescape just get grindier for every level you advance, only to stop at a peak you'll never get down from when you reach the highest lvl, the other MMO's often have non repetitive things to keep you interested.

But the only reason to play MMO's is to connect with people. If you want high quality gameplay and good graphics, get a singleplayer game. Or a multiplayer game like battlefield 2 or modern warfare

idk there are a few free mmos out there that are ok.. like lastchaos.. its very good for freeware.. the only prblem for me is the lag.. and it gets boring after a little while

Well, play a multiplayer game? MMO's arent very good gameplay wise, but if you like being social (going to parties, festivals and so on), try an MMO. If you're just looking for good gameplay, stick to singleplayer games
