An oddity
Hey DW, I was wondering if this has ever happened to you yet, and what (if anything) you did to fix it:
You get the fla file for your game back and fix up a few things; mainly switching out a few sprites and messing with the default plug-in but nothing else. I perused most of the actionspeak, but I didn't delete or remove anything either. Anyways, after you export it to an swf file and try playing, you find that your ship starts off facing to the right (sideways) and won't turn. You can move, but only up.
My best guess is that the file was incomplete when I got it. It was retrieved with an SWF extractor that put everything into an fla file for me, but it looked like everything was there. My best guess is I'm missing a piece of actionspeak. Do you know what the actionspeak coding is for this? The turning of the ships and such?
I'll send you the fla to look over if you'd like. I need some bug testers anyways. Hopefully this problem can be fixed, or I'm going to have some trouble releasing a finished version. Glad I caught it beforehand, or the next beta would be unplayable as is.

Re: An oddity

Re: An oddity
jerome, go into the player symbol and then click find all of the AS on the first frame, so stuff on the ship, and stuff on the AS frame, and copy and paste it here so I can see. Separate it for me so I know what it all is.
Re: An oddity
Unfortunately, none of the symbols (or 'shapes', as CS4 is calling them; possibly due to the fact that it isn't the same as the original .fla) are labeled 'player'. What's it at least look like? A black box? What shape? Or does it have any appearance at all?
I'm going to go through each and every shape and look to see if it has actionspeak attached, but it will take some time. If you can give me an idea of what it looks like, I might be able to locate it a bit faster and easier. I'll get it up as soon as I find it.
