Differences

Well, something that's been bugging me as of late is the "template" if you will of the forum. I'm finding it something that basically every FT related forum has, they all seem to have a general chat and a RP and an FT section and so on and so forth. We do have some difference with ou media sections, but i was just wondering, what's a good way we could diversify this forum structure and perhaps draw in a new variety of people

i dont have any ideas for new forums, but maybe redo the portal or something, and have forum news or something else in there. if its possible you could put in multiple skins we could choose from, but i dont see how that would help draw more people.

when BM2 comes out, or when BM3 goes into beta, we will see traffic pick up.

well, the portal has already been changed to the way it is now. i'm talking about the forum itself, it doesn't need to be like now or anything, but it's just something for people to chew on

i guess we can just wait for the new BMs, this is one of the main sites for BM2 isnt it?

well, a new thing we could add would be like making a place wear people can put other flash games aside from BM and the halo and stuff, this site would do better with other stuff on it.

The only thing we currently have expertise in that could be expanded, as Evil Person said, is flash games. A different engine from another game could be modified, as long as we find one from which editing is allowed. However FT:UF would then not be an ideal forum title.

how about becoming the semi-official forum ? or you can became the official forum of BM III , BM II and LSFXRO .

As long as this place is a FlashTrek forum, that main three component forum design (FT, General, RP) is about all there can be. Any changes would have to come through diversification, that is, adding new sections, perhaps as was stated previously other flash games in the FT section, so that FT would merely be the highlight of that main forum.

Also, specialization is another possibility. This really only works for our general chat section. It would mean dividing it up into smaller categories, making it more organized, and giving the forum index a fresher look, improving structure. We might have a major section in this for entertainment, for example, containing in turn television shows, video games, etc., and specifics forums for the top, previously established scifi-themed shows or games within here that already have a place elsewhere on the site. Making those subforums of a new section like this would certainly clean up the index. Might also add a sports section or something, don't know how much you guys are into that, and a music section, and a particularly good and thriving one would be a News section. It would encourage people to continue posting and become more active through sharing interesting news stories. Other subsections there I'm sure would be possible, and new ones that don't necessarily have a following here could be added to promote new membership and revitalized activity.

Right. There is the general FT section, that has things like FlashGate, but besides that it's pretty limited. Not that anyone would have anything to add.
