from what i've picked up, the movie will be canon in the sense the story line will fit, but i think certain things we're used to like the design of the enterprise will be different. i guess the set's a little different (at least that's what james cawley said) and the uniforms are too.

I have to agree with shemuel... Let's hope this isn't like that series... What's its name? Oh, i remember Star Trek Enterprise... They met the Borg! The Borg! The first time the Borg are seen is in 2064 (ST First Contact) , and they are defeated! And the other first time, the real first time, is when Q sends the Enterprise D to the other side of the galaxy! But then, captain Archer had to meet the borg! And the vulcans went to Earth before 2064! That was also interesting...

Oh, sorry, i'm getting slightly off-topic...
