Eh... Cooling down? Where have you been getting your information? Richindustrialistnews.com? The only reason some are denying it is because more CO2 control would reduce their profit. Most scientists, you know, the guys who actually KNOW WHAT THE HELL THEY'RE TALKING ABOUT and have STUDIED IT FOR FREAKING YEARS, are saying it's happening and will give us a huge bunch of problems if we dont slow it down or stop it.

I'm not disagreeing with the fact that it's happening. It's more of a question whether or not it is primarily caused by human actions, or is part of a (proven) trend in our planet's history.

well, you see, it's pretty simple. Our industries etc create carbon dioxide. Carbon dioxide makes it harder for the sunlight to escape the earth surface. The sunlight makes it hotter the longer it's down here. Sure, if we didnt have any industry, it would go up a little. But not nearly as much as it is now because of the CO2 emissions.

And yet the current situation has happened multiple times since our planet developed an atmosphere, the last instance being before the last Ice Age. I refute your insinuation that it's impossible for global warming to happen if industries did not exist.

What? no, i didnt say that. I said it would probably have happened anyways, but it would have happened faaaaar slower than it is happening now. The more CO2 we carelessly pump into the atmosphere to create our beloved cars, plastic goods and the more we use gas guzzling cars just because they look cooler (hummers), the faster global warming will be. Which is why those taxes are good, they force them to either keep paying, losing lots of profit, or pay a one time sum to get whatever existing CO2 reducing technology we alredy have, and also start developing new C02 reducing technology.

T1 isn't a technical term to describe an atmosphere... And since I happen to own a copy of Spore, I know the terminology...

So, you're also adicted on Spore? And I only used the spore terminology because I didn't remembered the actual one (ok... i don't know the true one...), but it is also a good system if you check that... let's see... comparinon that scale... earth should be a T3 and mars a T0... but put it on the same scale as the Moon isn't acurate so... it loses up there...

gonna check up on google...

this has gone waaaaaay too far off the moon landing. ill let JPB finish his research and then i might lock this. but we can continue the whole global warming thing in the population thread.
