Sith Apprenticeship

To become a master of the dark side of the force, you must learn to control your anger, to use it as a weapon of destruction. You must first be trained by a master in the ways of the Dark Side.

Darth Alexis walked to the Korriban Academy from Dresdae, the only colony on the planet run by Czerka Corp, the suppliers of the Sith. She had to train the newest bunch of lightweights to be ready for the upcoming war with the Republic. She slowly walked the corridors, watching the current trainees that were being tutored already. She stared at the new recruits, and scoffed. These raw recruits were so disorganized! She started to laugh, then stopped herself. She thought of the Sith army. Those men and women in shiny tin can suits weren't this disorganized. Well, there was time to train them into proper wielders of the Dark Side.
"Speak your names, and why you deserve to be here!" She yelled to the recruits, making sure her voice was heard.
[After everyone that's signed up has signed up, will go past introductions. and I'm guessing that the Sith soldiers will be NPCs?]

i think starting off there'll be a lot of NPCs, especially on the republic side!

"Ta'u. Here to fight any challenge"

Lucien eyed the arrogant-looking woman and scoffed to himself. This... person would be teaching him? Still, he decided to reserve judgment for now.

"Lucien, ma'am. I deserve to be here because I have anger. What are we to do?"

Terra may we start we will fall behind at this rate.

She looked at the two that had spoken up. She smiled in spite of herself. These were very promising recruits. She motioned for them to stand before her. "You two have shown the required skills and knowledge to have come this far. Ta'u You will be escorted by my assistant to your quarters. Lucien, you will accompany me to your quarters. Though don't take this as favoritism, it is because I don't have another assistant." She beckoned for her assistant, a human looking no older than 20 came up and escorted Ta'u to his quarters as she led Lucien.

He was accompanied to his room. He found his room not perfect but well suited for him. It was a small gazebo made with rice paper walls on the lawn of the property. He slid the door open and Steeped inside. He found a large chest in the middle of the room. He pushed it to the side. He turned around at the door and the assitant had left. "Not a word... strange". He laid down in the center of the room and began thinking. He thiught to himself "Someday this room will be bigger". He became curious about the chest and found it locked "Better not brake it. Darth Alexis might get mad".

The assistant tapped Ta'u on the shoulder, and handed him a key. "Your robes are inside that chest as well as a passkey to enter the Valley of the Dark Lords. You can visit there anytime you wish during your training, as long as you have permission from Darth Alexis, or on an errand to one of the tombs themselves. Report back to Darth Alexis in the morning. For now, sleep. You'll have a long day tomorrow." The assistant turns and walks off, sighing. Being Alexis's assistant was a chore, but at least she didn't have to train like the recruits.

Lucien nodded at the Dark lady.

"Very well, ma'am. Please follow me." After a few minutes of walking, he decided to at least try to get a feel for what he would be learning during his time on Dresdae. "What does Sith training entail, exactly," he asked.

She smiled. This one she would have to watch, the young one took initiative. "Hand-to-Hand combat, should you ever be disarmed. Though a Sith being disarmed would result in death usually. Agility and Endurance training, lightsaber combat, honing your emotions to better strengthen yourself, learning the Code of the Sith. Doing odd things around the academy. Only so many apprentices can be called true Sith. Besides training, we have an honor system which you have to earn Prestige to join other up and coming Sith on the final test." They approached Lucien's quarters. "Rest up, for tomorrow begins training."

He bowed, allowing for a slight smile to reach his face. "Very well, Dark Lady Alexis. I shall see you in the morning then." He entered his room and the door closed behind him. That small smile on his face turned into a full-blown maniacal grin. Oh yes, he would be learning much during his stay here.

It was the next day and Ta'u woke up slowly... Very slowly. By the time he came to he relized he was 15 minutes late. He quickly got up and got into his robe. He ran to the training room as quickly as he could. When he arrived he saw Lucien standing in the room alone. "... *Sigh of relief* ..." Ta'u said. "Don't look but she is right behind you" Lucien stated with a grin on his face. Lucian thought to himself "This will be no competition"

She would chuckle, and pinned Ta'u to the ground. "Rule 1: Don't let your enemies sneak up on you. Be very aware of the surrounding area and knowing that most of your enemies know the Terrain better than you. Rule 2: Don't be late for training. Next time it happens, I'll use you as live practice." She got off Ta'u, straightening her robes, and sighed. This would be a long day. "Today we are learning basic hand-to-hand combat. Does any of you know why we must learn this?"

Lucien thought back to the conversation he had yesterday with Alexis. "Because an unarmed Sith is usually a dead Sith?" he inquired.

I was still silent not knowing what to expect.
(Sorry for the short post but i didn't know whether you would wait for me.)

"No, Hand-to-Hand combat against live targets is to improve your endurance to pain, and how long you can last in a fight where force is not allowed. If you are disarmed, go down fighting with the rest you have, and take some Republic scum with you." She turned on her heels, staring at the two. "Any Questions?"

(Terra, what should I formally address your character as?)

"Yes ma'am. Will we be fighting each other?"

"Yes, at first you will be. I will be monitoring each of you closely to make sure no one gets seriously hurt, because killing each other is not part of the training. Anyone can kill, it takes a True Sith to deliver pain and torture to his or her enemies, slowly and with patience. Dead Men Tell No Tales." She looked at the recruits, wandering what they would do.

[Well, Sith Lords and Dark Lords of the Sith [or Ladies] were called Lords and Ladies respectively, so "Yes, my Lady, or something to that extent.]

The first round went quickly. Lucian (knowing I was late) thought that taking me down would be easy. So he through a fake to the left and brought his right fist around for the hit. Ta'u knocked his fist out of the air then grabd his arm. He twisted Lucian's arm and within 5 more seconds he was on the ground.

The second round lasted a little longer...

(note to Terra: The race I choose (same as Darth Maul) is physically strong but less so in the force.)

Lucien glared at Ta'u. He severely misjudged his opponent. He learned a long time ago not to judge by appearances, but his arrogance got him in the end. He stood up and side-kicked Ta'u and failed miserably. Ta'u caught his foot and spun him to the ground again. He actually managed to make 10 seconds this time. Well, he knew his weak point now. Always fighting with the aid of weapons in the past, he never really learned how to fight with his hands. The fact that he was built more for speed than strength didn't really help either.

Sighing, he reluctantly gave up. "I concede," he grumbled out. "It is clear that at this point in time, I cannot defeat you."

Alexis looks up. "Ahhh, your the other recruit I was told about. Your late. As punishment, you have to stay up with the Night Guard. Ahh well, Ta'u, you did a good job today. Lucien, I expected a bit better of you, but this is only the starting day. Anyway, time to move on to Agility training. I will throw bolts of lightning in your direction, and I want you to dodge. Get hit, and it will hurt, and you probably will get thrown back against the wall. Any questions?"

"No."

"No, ma'am," he relied, eager to redeem himself. He knew he could at least do better at this. He has a thin build and he'd been dodging objects and blaster fire during his time as a lowly criminal

Ta'u thought to himself " This will be a challenge. All of my attributes lie in strength and endurance"

"no", replied Sordan. he knew he was mediocre at this, but he felt he could dodge lightning bolts.

She stood back against the far wall. This would be more fun on her part. She shot a lightning bolt after lightning bolt at the recruits, giving almost no warning before, and firing in rapid succession. She couldn't help but giggle watching them.

Sordan did well with the first few. however, Alexis managed to hit him with a bolt and he was now against the floor. those bolts hurt like hell! he quickly rose to his feet--only to be greeted by two more bolts. he staggered to his feet, trying to concentrate with the help of the dark side...

Lucien gracefully sidestepped and ducked under various bolts of lightning. One actually almost hit him, but he had jumped over that one, leaving his cloak to be singed. The next one shocked his hair and his hair stood up, looking quite comical. He fell to the floor unceremoniously. Still, he thought, a major improvement over the last fiasco of a test.

He was brought out of his musings by a bolt of lightning headed toward him, which he rolled away from.

Alexis smiled, the recruits were doing a fine job. Most were, by standards set by the last owner of the Academy, were doing above average work in the first few tests. She halted her barrage of lightning and walked over to the recruits. "Third test, is one that all Sith must go through before becoming true inductees into this training. You must Learn the Code of the Sith. Now, you can ask any trainer here, or go to the library and look it up yourself. You have till tonight to learn it and repeat it to me."

Wait! I haven't gone yet.

Ta'u was able to doge the first 2 but the 3rd got him in the chest. It trough him against the wall. He got up quickly ,as if unharmed, ready to go again. He was able to doge 3 when another hit him in the leg. It through him into the air. He was getting up when another hit him in the shoulder. He stumbled to get up but he did.

*sordan goes to the library and finds the sith code, then finds Alexis in private and tells it to her.*

Lucien went to the library, expecting to have to look deeply to fine some obscure piece of arcane knowledge. It surprised him when it was engraved on a plaque at the entrance to the library. He went back to the training ground to find Darth Alexis meditating. He stood in front of her and recited,

" Peace is a lie, there is only passion.
Through passion, I gain strength.
Through strength, I gain power.
Through power, I gain victory.
Through victory, my chains are broken.
The Force shall free me. "

I went to the library and sat in the middle. It was engraved on the floor. I sat there reading it with the force until i had it committed to memory.

"Peace is a lie, there is only passion.
Through passion, I gain strength.
Through strength, I gain power.
Through power, I gain victory.
Through victory, my chains are broken.
The Force shall free me."

She clapped her hands. "You are now all on your way to becoming a sith. You passed the Initiation rights. Welcome to the Korriban Academy, and from here on out you are needing to gain prestige to move on up. I will not tell you how to gain prestige, or what you should do. Ask around the academy, someone might have something to do.

[From here on out, you all need to find your own way. Alexis is out of the picture for now until you need to talk to her about your acts. I will be acting as NPCs from now on.]

Lucien bowed and went his merry way. Well, not merry. Sith are not supposed to be merry.

At any rate, he walked to his room and sat on his bed, deciding to meditate for a while and maybe get some sleep before he would go and find out what this "prestige" is. He closed his eyes and tried to get in tune with the Force. Naturally, he failed. He decided to just go to sleep and tomorrow would ask around.

Maybe I'll try to be civil with the other two, he thought to himself. We may be here a while yet. It'll be good to have decent conversation. I'll adjust my plans accordingly.

And with that thought, he shut his eyes and went to sleep; a sleep plagued by monsters and death.

(Terra, are we supposed to just go up to you and ask? You said you would be acting as an NPC.)

[In KOTOR I, there were sith masters that gave out quest that would earn you prestige, such as killing renegade students, raiding the Tombs of the Dark Lords, lets.. see... killing other students, bringing back ancient Sith holocrons and the such.]

Sordan went to the library to research this 'prestige'. he did not find much, only that he needed to speak with a 'sith quest master'. now, he thought, where can i find one?
