USS Defiant or Enterprise D? Explan Why you choose what.

I think Defiant Cause think for a moment, More armor on it, Phasers ment to plow through shields. Cloak.

Defiant has quantum torpedoes while the D has photon. I say the defiant.

I forgot to add that. hehehe. Yeah. I played startrek legacy yesterday and i used the Defiant agenst a hard galexy class and i totaly wooped it. With mid damage.

Anyone else contiune on with the Defaint or Enteprise d thing. Note every thing here is a comment on what you think/know/Did for a test.

The defiant, it's alot harder to hit, has alot stronger weaponry and needs one hell of alot less crew

Yes, the Defiant is tough, but with all the Star Trek combat sims and games out there, people seem to forget the mission of the Enterprise -- To Boldly Go Where No Man Has Gone Before, not to blow poop up. It's a massive vehicle of exploration, not a warship as the Defiant was intended to be.

But they always somehow get into combat. That's when being armed with more than hull mounted trebuchets and not being the size of a major city can be useful

My Princecipal in school says that the Enterprise could win. Its 10 years older than the Defaint.

I don't understand, are we now talking about the Enterprise versus the Defiant in a combat situation? In that case, your principal may be correct.

And Thingy, the D was 642 by 467 metres, hardly the size of a city.

yeah, i know. That was exaggaration. Just like saying it had hull mounted trebuchets was exaggaration. But it's still pretty big compared to the defiant, making it easier to hit.

The defaint has armor and cloak and quntem yorrpedos.

I've seen a battle of the Defiant versus two Sovereign class ships on Bridge Commander, and it tore through one of the Sovereigns before finally being destroyed. Tough little ship indeed. X3

Of course, the Defiant in that vid was the mirror universe version, so it may have had more weaponry. It's pulse phasers seemed to make quick work of the shields on a Sovvie, so if it went up against a Galaxy-class like Enterprise-D, it might be able to win. Though it's victory will likely be short-lived.

I have startrek legacy and i killed a strong Enterprise d with the Defiant. Im going to keep saying Defiant. Oh and in 1st contact the defiant still survived and riker said tough little ship to worf.

I'd be tempted by the defiant, but I'd have to go galaxy class. Yeah, the galaxy is nothing compared to the defiant in combat, but you could actually live on the galaxy class and enjoy it, with all the holodecks, 10-forward etc. It's a nice place to be. The defiant has no luxuries - bunk beds. It's a ship of just tactical systems and living quarters.

its a question of who would win in combat, not which ship you would rather live on.

Actually the topic is asking what ship would you choose to have... And then explain why...

Indeed, he is right... a Galaxy-Class can carry even the crewman families... the Defiant is like a return to the old days (ENT/TOS era) were there only was Starfleet personnel on board...
