I've upgraded the downloads section of the forum, so check it out. Everything flash trek has been put up there, including the latest BM2 and BM3. BM2 and 3 takes a long time to load though, so be warned!

the BM3 download works now! it only takes about 30 seconds to load!

On my computer it takes about 5 secs to load.

although that's of course a desk PC on a NATO budget. the best computers probably already are on starttrek levels.

nato the only good thing they did was film stargate on there base (cheyene montian) any way why deos it take so long to load on a top speed internet connection and on a computer with 5 motherboads in it (made it maself)

Well, it is a legit question, answered both by yes, this was years ago and two, most of the content had been removed as it stored on other websites. Now it would be possible to reboot the downloads section of course and it could have more than just like the Flash Trek games

Yeah actually, could carry everything from stories, to flash games, heck, even Red Squad for download. Our biggest problem is having a server to host all this stuff on which ultimately means I have to pay a hosting group because these free hosters like mediafire and rapidshare are so riddled with ads it's not even funny anymore

I know one which is basically 0.99$ a month, with 5Gb of space and 10Gb's of Bandwidth... Maybe it could do the trick?

The only thing is if we put something like Red Squad up, it will alone use up pretty much all of the hosting because videos are large (especially HD ones if we decide to put those up)

Can you not use your pc as a server?

I'm not sure, maybe, but I dunno how you set it up for other people to be able to download stuff and not have access to the rest of the PC (y'know privacy and security issues and all)

I do know, but I don't have a decent pc to do that... My old desktop is dead and if I repair it before buying a new one, mom and dad won't buy the new one...

And you could always link Red Squad to youtube...

Red Squad is on youtube, but having a legit download would be good. Eventually when the series is done, there'll be a DVD ISO to download.
Also, if you use a PC to be a server, wouldn't it always have to be on?

Yeah... that's why sometimes is less expensive to buy server time than to host it at home...

Yeah see I could use my Windows desktop (has a 500GB HDD) but it being on all the time isn't something I'm inclined to. Also, I have to really think as to why I would pay money out of my own pocket for this

Yeah, I was going to offer the old computer we have somewhere (as I may bring it to uni next year as a backup workstation), but remembered we're going to have to be Scrooge-like with the electricity use. Ah, how easy it was not care about the cost of utilities and food.

You could buy your own server then for the first few months put ads on it so you gte your money back.

I could support the power cost, but I would have to shut down the server once and a while... expecially when mom starts cleaning the place or when there's a storm...

I don't mind contributing a little per month for your server costs.

yeah, and w/e was supporting the server would be a good idea to install an electricity counter with the computer, so we would know the total expenses of the computer...
