The scorpion

this is just a short story i made made in english thought i might post it here...

here it goes...

Dr Rodriguez was late... very late. He was working double shift and he was in so much trouble already. He thought it going to get worse... it's amazing how wrong some people can be...
He walked into the clinic and to his office. It was cluttered with books and papers here and there. A mess of magazines were on the floor. He sighed,this was not good.
And it was not about to get worse, it was about to get a lot worse...
It was as if a complete silence suddenly settled into the room... A fly buzzed against the window forever continuing to futile task of trying to get in. A spider, ever the patient hunter sat completely still in a ceiling corner. A scorpion scuttled amongst the magazines.
The scorpion... A shiny black creature. One of natures deadliest assassins. A window of opportunity. A silent deathtrap.
Dr Rodriguez's hand started moving towards the magazines. Unaware of what lay near him... Unaware that he was a target.
The scorpion watched with interest. In truth he despised stinging humans. It was wasted venom that could be used for more, edible prey. But what the hell, this human was invading his home.
Dr Rodriguez picked up reptile monthly, ironic, the scorpions tail struck him in the arm.
The doctor never knew what happened.

So how do you guys like it?

I like how you put in a lot of effort to add suspense.

And, you did a good job of using descriptive words, in order to reach the reader.
