Job
Since I'm going into high school, I need a job idea. I thought about computer programing. What do you think?
Re: Job
Personally, I would suggest joining the military.

depends on where you are, if it's europe, join the military. You'll be saving lives, helping countrys redevelop (like afghanistan) and keep europe safe. Plus you could get some pretty good pay raises if you're smart enough. But if you're in the US... just... dont. Seriously
Computer programming will be very hard but will pay incredibly well. Oh, and even better, if you want to both do good and work with computers / machinery. Become a techie or an engineer. Hell, i bet you could become a combat engineer if you have the guts. But again, dont touch it if you're in the US or you're probably not going to keep those guts for long

Re: Job
well I am going into security installation. well I hope I am. I have all year to find something to do. but I can tell you the IT business is getting crowded you have to be rather good at it to do well.
Re: Job
Don't join the military in Britain. As I think ED would agree, most parts of it are overstretched at best. And the stuff at home like housing etc. is even more stretched. Unless you really are enthusiastic about it, I wouldn't. I know plenty of people who love it though.
Whatever you do, do something you like. The same applies to your subjects in school. Even if you're able to stand doing something you don't really like, you probably won't be as good at it as someone who is enthusiastic about it in the long term.
I don't know what it's like in America, but here it doesn't matter too much what you got even at degree (college) level as long as it's in a good-quality subject.

Re: Job
Sell hot dogs!!! Or be a clown!!! Or make flash games for the rest of your life!!! Just kidding. I want to be a lawyer, but maybe I just want to argue and lie. Don't determine what you want to do quickly and without thought. Procrastinate!!! WOOT! But seriously... What are you qualified in? Computer science? Programming? Try to pick something that you could be good at, and wont get fired, and will not enjoy it, which means it's healthy! (All things that you enjoy are bad for you! Morganism FTW)

screw that bull. That's what's the intention, yes, but what it all comes down to is shooting everybody with a gun before they're able to blow up your dreshly built girls school, but after that you find out it's been blown up by a suicide bomber named achmed. i'd rather be in a trench in WW2, at least then you'd know who to shoot at.Thingy wrote:depends on where you are, if it's europe, join the military.
