History of the forum and BMIII.
Well this forum has received quite a gathering and I believe it deserves it's own documentary. I will be making this from the help of the veterans.
I need as much help as I can get and probably will be superceded by Darkwing when he decides to take over this.
I will be editing this post so that the history of the forum will be on this and be on one other if it supercedes it's limits.
Feel free to join in and give dates and all that. PM me, post in here but I want to start with Darkwing's history and why he decided to make this forum.
So darkwing if you're listening (which I know you are. ) please come and help by pm'ing me with the introduction of
1. What made you think of making a flash game based on Star Trek?
2.When did you hook up with dondon and such?
3.Why and when did you make this forum?
4. A little history with names of the first few chosen ones.
Please I need as much help as I can get!!

ANyways, that forum wasn't going nowhere, and I was on Dondon's forum and started a little old RPG called Darkwing: The Arton Expanse. Just a side note here, at that time, Jerome Star was my first officer on the Rp, a CMDR Milne if I remember right. ANyways, I (after starting a little project we like to call BM3) decided to make a new forum for really no reason. I figured I'd make it like Vex's, with the same general categories and such (I don't know why, I must've liked it). Anyways, a couple of members from my old forum joined, and I made people like Trekcheese mods I think, but nobody posted. I don't even know if they posted once, well, they must have, their accounts say 0 posts (some of them) I think it's cause we purged some of the old stuff several months ago. Well, nobody posted and nobody knew this forum was here. Now I decided to go with these guys for a host simply because dondon's site looked cool, so I mimicked it. Anyways, this story really begins with the introduction of a little guy named Stewi....

Re: History of the forum and BMIII.
OK, so I'm going to have to give this to you in sections, as i don't have time to sit down and write this all at once. I guess I'll begin with the forum (it's the easiest), but the forum is a result of the games, which I'll write about later

Re: History of the forum and BMIII.
Darkwing to explain why I quoted your intro, when and if this topic gets big I would need to quote and edit it into the reserved space. I know that your first intro was just two spaces down, but when we get into more than one page it will be easier for people to read just one post rather than having to go through all the posts.

Re: History of the forum and BMIII.
...SO this guy named Stewi logs on, and I'm like "holly peanut butter and jelly, a new user!" and i get reall excited, and what's more exciting, this Stewi guy actually posts, a lot more than even me! Not only that, this fellow named Stewi says "hey man, me, I do some graphic design yeah! Make me admin and I'll make your forum look sparkly clean!" So I was like "Okely shmokely" and bam, made him admin. Then, he created this kick buck shiny skin for the forum that we used for probably 8 months. Then, more peoples join, including a Mr Sir Alkanosis, and I make him moderator cause I liked him on dondon's site. And this creepy hacker named DJ comes and is like "like totally dude, I'm the sh* man!" ANd he posted, and this little old forum was getting popular. Then regular's like timey whimey Jtull join and we all make fun of him for his bad gramer, and we're like "dud, u totaly kant spel rite"
Then came the Dark ages.....
TYo be continued....

Re: History of the forum and BMIII.
Well, I don't think that's how I really introduced myself....
LOL!
Oh, and please don't call me a druggie.
Heck, I didn't even really do drugs back then.
And now, I don't use them any more.
I would really appreciate it if you didn't label me as a druggie, since that label is now false.
(YOu can delete this post after you read it, and edit your last one.)

Re: History of the forum and BMIII.
The background is on my youtube page.

Re: History of the forum and BMIII.
i don't have the other one saved, just stewi's and the one we have now. remind me in october and maybe i'll change the skin over for a while. speaking of changing things, I'm starting to get tired of the format of this forum, it's clunky in the admin design side of thigs, and this is an older coded board, so it screws up quite a bit.
Re: History of the forum and BMIII.
Yeah, in ubuntu firefox everything lags a bit.
We should have the code updated.
We should have the code updated.
Re: History of the forum and BMIII.
well, the thing with this forum is i can't really change the format of the code or whatever. we are i believe a phbb 2 forum, but this skin template is really old, may not exist anymore, and if in the options you change the board to phbb3, it screws it up admin wise. my new forum is phbb3, and it's quite nicer then this from an admin pov, and it has options that this forum doesn't have

It's so funny how we think along the same lines.Darkwing wrote:well, the thing with this forum is i can't really change the format of the code or whatever. we are i believe a phbb 2 forum, but this skin template is really old, may not exist anymore, and if in the options you change the board to phbb3, it screws it up admin wise. my new forum is phbb3, and it's quite nicer then this from an admin pov, and it has options that this forum doesn't have
It scares me sometimes...
Oh, and phbb3 is much more secure.
The only vulnerability I know of with phbb3 is with members pages.
If the members page has "memberlist.php" in it, then we're screwed.
LOL!
(SQL injection vulnerability)

Re: History of the forum and BMIII.
no, it says we are on the skin, but this is a PHBB2 skin made to look PHBB 3, otherwise some options that we have like embedding youtube vids would be on here. and where'd you find quick reply. under modules or something?

So, where did you find the phbb version info?
Oh, and I don't think we can resize the quick reply box.
Edit: Never mind, you can resize it!
And whoever said that there were no emocations, just toggle the quick reply interface with the a/A thingy in the right hand corner.

Re: History of the forum and BMIII.
Can't. It's limited my friend...
Well, unless there's some way to edit it.
There probably is.
But, I would have to have Darkwing's privileges to do it probably.
(DW, you know how on the forum backup page that allows you to edit the code of the forum? You might be able to edit a lot of stuff that way.)
