have you ever thorght about this?
ok well since I am not in school and am unemployed I have alot of spare time on my hands and have thorght about things alot lately.
in my boredom I came to start thinking about what I would probably name my kids. of course I dont plan on naming any childeren for many years. I came up with the names david and juliet.
I was wondering what people in other areas of the world think of those names. and would like to hear about what names you like.

Re: have you ever thorght about this?
actually that is not the reason I like the name david. I have liked it for a long time kinda the same with owning a trench coat it just so happend that dr who had one. and it just so happens david tennant is my favorate actor. but mere coincedenes.
and ED when it comes to juliet almost everyone I have asked loves the name. well one of my friends thinks I will end up marrying someone called juliet. but I love the name its uncommon and its a beautiful name.
and sam and dom. not bad. simple and effective. I did like the girls name bethany ( not because I liked a girl with that name) but its a place name so its kinda boring.

Re: have you ever thorght about this?
yea. common names are kinda boring. like the name James or Mark. or for girls Anna and Hannah. although I really like the name Anna if there were two girls one would probably be named Anna.
lol the most uncommon girls name I know of is Jessamy

Re: have you ever thorght about this?
names are important. one girl said that I could make a great Romeo. ( I asked she wasent refureing to playing that part) I cant see that working though aparently my name suits me. and I dont care its my name and I have enough nicknames as it is I dont need to change my name. off the top of my head my nick names are Doctor, captain Jack, House, John Smith and Captain planet. (the last I have no idea how I got it)

Re: have you ever thorght about this?
is that because I would have to think of another name or some other reason?
if its the name I quite like the name Anna.
if its the name I quite like the name Anna.
Re: have you ever thorght about this?
Hmm. This has come to my mind a lot if I ever had a kid. Boy would be named Jeremiah and the Girl would be named Alexandria
I like the names David and Juliet.. though they are common names, at least around here anyway

Re: have you ever thorght about this?
I won't think about it until I'm having to. I find it a bit premeditated.
Jeremiah! The doom and gloom guy in the bible! Yay! But I guess most people won't associate the name with that. And you can always shorten it to Jeremy Jim or Jerome I suppose.

Re: have you ever thorght about this?
I've never heard the name Anika before. Though that's probably because people with that kind of name are pretty much nonexistent in the state of Delaware. I've heard the name Anita though, and that's fairly uncommon.
And Jtull, you're thinking way too far into the future. You'll be having kids at, what, 26 or 27?

meh. i know some girls with that name.Shemuel wrote:I've heard of Annika/Anneka before, but it must be a different spelling.
It has a rather eastern European origin, which is probably the reason why it's rather unknown outside of Europe.

If I have a boy I would want him to be Jacob.
If it was a girl I would want to name her Serena or Serenity (if that's how you spell it.)

Re: have you ever thorght about this?
hey, he's not thinking too far into the future, i mean, there's the whole teen pregnancy thing, maybe he's planning to do it now.....
Re: have you ever thorght about this?
umm. no I know I am thinking about the future. and its something I spent about 2 hours thinking about. and it also came up in conversation with a friend of mine. and I have allot of time on my hands. also try to remember most of my close friends are girls so I will tend to think about that kinda thing.
truthfully I just thought this would make a interesting topic that would bring on some good discussion. (witch it has) and if I remember correctly it was these kinda topics that started this community.
DW I am a devoted Cristian I would never have sex before marriage. and no girl I know is pregnant.

Re: have you ever thorght about this?
"prohibiting pre-marital sex is against my religion" as a friend of mine used to say (xD)
Re: have you ever thorght about this?
I disagree. does it say in the ten commandments that "Thou shalt not f... before thou art screwed in wedlock"?Jtull wrote:DW I am a devoted Cristian I would never have sex before marriage. and no girl I know is pregnant.
Actually, it's not in the ten commandments per se, but it is in the Bible about not having pre-marital sex, see, with the commandments, there are most likely more than ten some theologians believe, it's just that God gave us ten to show that we couldn't keep them, to prove that we are sinners to ourselves. The other commandments are spread thropugh the Bible not quite in "thou shalt not" format, but in the stories of the testaments, and I believe in the letters from the apostles to the churches if i'm not mistaken

right. do we really need to go down this road on this subject. its not exactly the kinda thing you would bring up with your parents. or for that matter your dates. lol *imagines response from parents*

you know, DW you could also just POST your arguments instead of editing my post. isn't that what the concept of a forum is all about anyway?
