Police Brutality
Yeah.
Thoughts? Me being the way I am, I think she deserves it. 15 year old girl that's stealing cars and kicking shoes at police officers? Eh, it's a bit excessive though, I will admit.

Well the teenager shouldn’t have started it.
But the deputy was to mean to her.

Re: Police Brutality
that happened in a major US city before, a couple of cops beat down a black guy who was running away after a car chase. The funny thing is that millions of americans rioted and even killed eachother because a convicted criminal (for assault, rape i think but i'm not sure, armed robbery and a few other things.). makes you glad you're in europe.

I don't think they should have hit her. Let the judge decide her fate, taking into account her actions towards police.

Re: Police Brutality
Who ever said she should have just been slapped gets a high five!
: DJ high fives:
See, getting slapped doesn't hurt as much as getting punched. (Trust me, I know. But, I've only been slapped by girls, so I don't know if that counts.)
Well, he could have slapped her lightly....
Oh, and when you slap someone, you are also putting shame into their face!
Hey, if she's been stealin cars, and then she goes and starts throwin stuff at an officer, heck, slap her!
LOL!
Note: And I'm not really into slapping girls, but this one was asking for it.

Re: Police Brutality
If that had been me, the cops would have been on the receiving end of a beat down and they would have had to use a taser. <_< and those cops should have their hands removed by a rusty saw.

It is against the law to even hit a female, and those cops did more than just hit.

You see, you hit them for hitting the girl
Then some other people hit you for hitting them for hitting the girl
And so on.... violence doesn't solve violence without genocide.

I have to agree with Shemuel here. Violence only leads to more violence.
Oh, and Terra, you think violence is fun? Think about that while putting you feet into her shoes. Do you have another more well put thought?

Re: Police Brutality
I'm getting no where with this argument...
I for one don't think she deserved the treatment she got. I thought while reading the comments here that she threw them with her hands at the cop. Then after I saw the video I thought the cop was out of his mind with anger. She showed disrespect and she needed to be punished. She didn't need to be punished in this way.

True. She deserved to be punished, just not in the way she was. On the bright side, the guy is probably going to lose his job.

Re: Police Brutality
out in vancouver there's a case going on where a policeman tazered a guy 5-7 times because he was writhing on the floor. his excuse was he was assaulting an officer at this point, but he was writhing on the floor in pain. the story the cop tells, is quite a biut different from the surveilance footage too.

i watched some of the hearing on the news, his excuses are very pathetic, especially when compared to the footage. i wish i could show you, maybe it's on the cbc website or something

Re: Police Brutality
yeah, it's really a strange case. the guy was initially tazeered for swing a stapler around in a quote unquote viloent manner. so the officer tazeered the guy, he fell to the floor. the officer then shot him several more times because he was writhing on the floor in pain, the officer stated that he was struggling with officers. the man unfortunately died because of the being tazered 5-7 times

Meh. and in the Netherlands there's already a lot of fuss when a police officer shoots a guy who's threatening with a gun in the shoulder, after having fired two warning shots. You guys should consider yourself lucky.

you think that's bad? a psycho ran towards a couple of police officers with an axe and got shot, the police officers almost lost their jobs(but fortunately the other cops protested). i mean, he friggin charged them with an AXE, you shoot or you die, that's a no brainer

no, but that's if someone gets out a knife and threatens you . if he gets a sword and charges you, you dont have alot of time to react so you just try to hit him where it hurts the most
