Click Start , click Control Panel , and then double-click System. Click the Automatic Updates tab, and then click Turn off automatic updating. Yea! (Say thank you.)Alkanosis wrote:Like Automatic "Updating." I would like to know how to disable that, please.

Thank you so much, Darkjedi. I'll make sure not to upgrade to Vista anytime soon either... I heard Vista has even more "useful tools."

Re: "Cyber Security" It's fun
You're welcome! Oh yeah, Vista does suck. The only good features on Vista, that I know of, are better desktop themes, graphics, security, and wireless connection software.
Re: "Cyber Security" It's fun
no the program called time lord by my dads company it logs me off if i try to disable it can you please give me some sugestions?
Re: "Cyber Security" It's fun
Hit ctrl+alt+ delete, go to the processes, and look for the program's name. Kill the processes associated with it. This may work. I warn you though, this may cause errors, and screw up your computer. I that happens, I suggest using the system recovery program. Tell me if this works.
Re: "Cyber Security" It's fun
I have tried and done this before but me dad made a backround program that shuts down the computor if I do this so I need to find it and eradicate it but when I try it says acsess denied.
Re: "Cyber Security" It's fun
Can you access command prompt?
Does you dad have a seperate account on the computer?
Does you dad have a seperate account on the computer?
Re: "Cyber Security" It's fun
You can hack into your Dad's account. To do this, open up command prompt, and type this:
This should give you admin access. If the last command doesn't work, then you might try replacing "administrator" with "administrators".
It's fast, simple, and easy. I hope it works.
- Code:
net localgroup administrator youruseraccountname /ADD

Re: "Cyber Security" It's fun
well I can end some but not all processes.
how do I get rid of the others?
how do I get rid of the others?
Re: "Cyber Security" It's fun
What do you mean you can't end them? Does the software block you from doing that? I suggest just adding yourself to the administrator group, like I showed on my last post.
Re: "Cyber Security" It's fun
Oh, I have an idea! Open up notepad, and type in:
Tell me if this doesn't work. I still have a few more ideas.
- Code:
@ echo off
command.com
net localgroup administrator youruseraccountname /ADD

And all of those things were made thanks to Stardock software, which can be installed in XP... My mother has a Vista laptop and it was filled with filthy bugs...

Re: "Cyber Security" It's fun
a simple way to get admin access (dealing with people who don't secure their computer well) is start up in safe mode and select the admin account. I don't know if they still do that with Vista.
Re: "Cyber Security" It's fun
Ah, try typing this: (This is NOT the same as my last post)
- Code:
@ echo off
command.com
net localgroup administrators youruseraccountname /ADD
Re: "Cyber Security" It's fun
no when i log on this program starts and if i disable it it logs me off agin.
Re: "Cyber Security" It's fun
Go to start>Startup> and then look for the security program and delete it. YAY! If that doesn't work, then I have another idea.
Re: "Cyber Security" It's fun
Well, do what Stewie said, and then create your handy dandy notepad file, paste this onto it,:
save it as a .bat file, run it, log off of your dad's account, log onto your account, and then do what I said in my last post. LOL! Confusing huh?
I still have more ideas.
