Because you probably haven't installed your modem on Windows.

Linux is better with modems.

Once the WinXP acessed the Modem easely, and it reconized the Modem. So, how can I install him? I don't think I have a modem instalation CD.

Well, you're gonna need one of those!

Just call up the manufacturer of your modem, and ask them how you can get another installation disk, because you have

misplaced yours.
