It needs to sound more... epic to be real viking metal in my opinion. Right now I would consider it folk metal more than anything else. Sounds great, though.
On an unrelated note, I have lost all faith in Metallica. Megadeth just owns them in every single category; guitar, vocals, drumming, anything you can think of.

Megadeath is AWESOME, but you can't compare Megadeath to Metallica.

Not comparing. Just saying that the general skill level of Megadeth overshadows Metallica by far.
Have you noticed that everything (especially Death Magnetic) sucked after the Black Album? Yeah. And Kirk really can't hold a candle up to Dave. (Is comparing individual players okay...?)

Death Magnetic sucked if you compare it to Metallica's other stuff. But, you have to remember that an album doesn't have to come out and have all of it's tracks on awesome proportions to be successful.
I know of a lot of bands that just release an album to get one song out. In Metallica's case, "The Day That Never Comes". (Which, is awesome in my opinion.)
Oh, and everything has pretty much sucked after the black album.
