I found an awsome animated gif maker. It is called GIMP it stands for GNU Image Manipulation Program. (it may be under The GIMP. It can make transparent gifs (under color to alpha) and there is some way to make animated gifs though i haven't found it yet. You will find it at www.gimp.org.
Note: the help file is a separate file.
