You need to trim some of the green lights (give them a hard edge along one side) so that it looks like they're obscured by the surface features. The lights look like they're on the surface instead of shining out from the interior.

No, on a borg ship the lights are internal not on the surface. So the lighting effects need to be mostly on the layer underneath the surface structure.
