Tactics
Post tactics here: Here is one of my favs: If you don't want to cheat and are stuck with a small ship or you are in a neg'var or a warbird or any large ship that can cloak trying to fight a sphere then do this: (i don't know about the sphere for this one though) 1. have planetary access and a cloaking device. 2. fight whatever you are fighting until your hull gets very low. 3. Hurry up and cloak! 4. go to the planet and repair. 5. continue doing this until you rule the galaxy!

Re: Tactics
i circle around, firing torps until they lose shields, then swoop in, unleash my aux craft and shoot the crap out of them. And i also sometimes use your tactic.Or i sometimes lay a siege on their planet.

Re: Tactics
Why don't you just equip your ship with a transphasic and a cloak before the 1st strike an then make the next:
When they don't make you any case, you lock a ship and run in warp (if you are a runabout or a warp ship) for about 5 seconds (if you are not one of those, I recommend more). Then wait for the cloak and the transphasic to finish their loads and then fire the transphasic and quickly cloak. If your target blow up, go near a enemy vessel, select it, decloak when the transphasic reloading is complete and fire again, if your target get heavy damage, but is not destroyed, cloak, wait that the reload is finished and fire another transphasic. Make this until all ships are destroyed or planet strength reach 0.
That's BMII, we are talking about BMI.

Treat the planet as a enemy ship. Just select it and start firing (he won't counter-strike and other ships won't defend it).
Re: Tactics
Oh I knew that, i just didn't know it was called siegeing. (i thought that was where you have a bunch of ships and you surround the planet)

English has to many meanings for few words. It is also called that, but, in the siege, you also don't bomb the area?
Re: Tactics
i use sieging a lot in BM1.Plus i like to bring a bit of irony into a firefight by fighting them with a fleet of their own ships.

My favourite Irony is to defeat a huge fleet of Lysian fighters with a runabout. muahahahahahah
Re: Tactics
lol i do that to. In bm2, i can do that with an escape pod mounted with a D-cannon. Oh and did you know that if you destroy your own ships in a sector that you don't own the planets strength goes down? (this might have been posted somewhere else, i'm too lazy to look it up.JPB18 wrote:Earthdeath wrote:i use sieging a lot in BM1.Plus i like to bring a bit of irony into a firefight by fighting them with a fleet of their own ships.

Re: Tactics
LOL. All you need is to have 3 transphatics to circle a station. It would take you a long time fighting a Dyson Sphere otherwise(there is nowhere to repair there)

How can you siege in BM1? Unless you're talking about the sieging I thought JP and Earthdeath meant...Earthdeath wrote:i use sieging a lot in BM1.Plus i like to bring a bit of irony into a firefight by fighting them with a fleet of their own ships.

Re: Tactics
What I think he wants to say is that siege of putting some ships on the planet fighting ships in orbit.
Re: Tactics
A tip for that- don't use very good ships like sovereigns, because when you are away from that certain planet it seems that it doesn't matter what ships ou have stationed there.

Re: Tactics
Yes. Did you read on VX about the guy that lost 3 Spheres to Klingons in 1 day(and I mean 1 trip day)?Shemuel wrote:A tip for that- don't use very good ships like sovereigns, because when you are away from that certain planet it seems that it doesn't matter what ships ou have stationed there.
