Events that changed your life.

well from my recent experiences I have to wonder, what events have you guys gone through that you think changed your life or are significantly ingrained in your memory that you would tell any future offspring about them?

Well the obvious stuff such as 9/11 7/7 all the tsunami's and earthquakes we've had the current nuclear crisis at japan (depending on how it goes now)

The day I got my first job (which, unfortunately, I am still at) changed me into a miserable wreck and caused me to start hating my life

Otherwise I couldn't think of any off the top of my head.

yea, well I was talking with a couple of friends about this and we agreed that for anyone in New Zealand the 22/2/11 and the 4/11/10 earthquakes are going to be the thing that we tell our kids about. 9/11 probably wont even get mentioned. Others will probably be the boxing day tsunami and the Japan earthquake/ tsunami. The Earthquake will be the event that I tell stories of and will remember completely for the rest of my life.

However other than the huge international events I have been told by my friends (and I agreed to do this) I am going to sit and future kids down and tell them the long story of how I met their mother.
