I have been doing it for about 4 years now. the only tip I have is that putting sounds in your head can fill some of the holes that come from creating complex objects.

Holy shit... I just realized something... The prophet Muhammads ascension to heaven and the angel in the cave in Mecca? They might have been DILD's... Especially the one in the cave since he was sleeping when the angel awoke him. The description in the Qu'ran sounds a lot like a lucid dream...

Well, hashish has been used in Arabia for a very long time. But let's not go bashing any religion.

Just make sure that after you're done, take a really nasty dump in DW's toilet, and then don't flush.

Darkwing wrote:Could be maybe, remember, even if you believe or not in things like religions or heck, even superstitions, they all have their grounding on real stuff (or Muhammad mighta just been on shrooms that night Razz )
That... actually makes a lot of sense.

Oh, and I have a new idea I'm going to work on. It's in the subject of dream control.

Kinda stolen from Inception, but it just might work if I could freaking get it right.

Dream layers. Basically you fall back into a previous layer when you dream becomes unstable, rather than waking up.
(Kinda like putting tabs as separate, killable processes in google chrome, just to put things into perspective)

I can already create layers, but it's hard to go back to one once I've left it. I usually just end up waking up pissed off.

Actually, by what I understood of inception, was when you create more than a certain number of layers, those layers become unstable... And you may get stuck in a "limbo"...

You can create 2 stable layers the third is risky and anymore your a nutbag, i had about 4/5 DILD's last night very little control of them but i was aware i was dreaming and could slightly manipulate stuff, sadly i don't have much time to induce a WILD dream

i remember one night like a month ago i woke up 5 separate times from the same dream only to dream it again. in the later times, i knew i was dreaming, but i couldn't control anything. when i woke up from the dream it was always the same part; i was on the verge of death. it was pretty weird...
(then the next day i ended up getting sick, maybe the virus had already started or something? i have weird dreams when im ill...)

Yeah, I have weird dreams when I'm sick too. No idea why.

@ lee

Try looking at your hands, and using commands.

http://www.dreamviews.com/wiki/Dream-Stabilization-and-Clarity-Tutorial

Just remember that it's your dream, and in your dreams, YOU are in complete control.

It's a lot about the mindset. Music has been a HUGE help for me.

Try listening to more, "cerebral" music if you haven't already.

Try too look at music as an art, rather than just music that makes you feel good. (not saying feel good music isn't good. I love feel good music, but it's not as beneficial to our brains in the subject of dream control.) Music can speak, all you have to do is listen.

It doesn't matter what it is, but try something completely new, and then force an interpretation and visualization from yourself.

DO NOT WATCH MUSIC VIDEOS BEFORE LISTENING TO THE SONG! Music videos make us lazy in the interpretation and visualization department. Come to your own conclusions first, and then maybe watch the video.

Read things of substance, write about your feelings, no matter how stupid they seem. Exercise your imagination! Create a daily physical exercise schedule.

Connect your mind and body. Over-analyze your actions, emotions, and thoughts. Take out time to meditate each day. Unplug.

All of these things can help you to gain more control over your mind and body, but especially your mind.

Play with it, it's a muscle we all use too little.

Yes, the ability to meditate deeply I think is what makes us both good at this.

For example, when I'm meditating upon something spiritual, I'll sometimes forget where I'm at. LOL

It's not a trance, but I'm just very deeply focused. I get that way when I write sometimes too.

yea. the ability to lucid dream also means I can sleep when I want. my heart slows down and breathing slows to my sleep pattern.

My best trick is to pretend your asleep and lucid dreaming and you end up falling into it.

I just envision myself falling deeper and deeper into layers of blankets (blankets = security), until it's pitch black. And then I see a light at the end of a tunnel, I go through it, and bam! Lucidity.
