SETI is an acronym for search for extra terrestrial intelligence basically you download a program and if your computer has spare procesing power this program downloads the data from them computes the data and re uploads it to them, and for every report complete you get credits ( they dont get you anything just bragging rights) the program also lets you donate your spare processing power to other projects in all fields of science and the arts

SETI feels like a big waste of time to be honest... It's like searching for a specific, tagged and strangely shaped ball of hay in 20 oceans of hay.

Now, if we could narrow it down to the area we got the wow signal from, we might actually find something...

I thinks its the same program the program allows you to donate your cpu to many projects i just choose SETI as part of a school project from about 6 month ago
