I find that after a while, my eyes can't take the looking at screens, especially at night when your eyes are tired and the screen seems blue and harsh in comparison to everything else.

f.lux (all OSes) changes the screen brightness and tint depending upon the time of day. You can specify your location, and how strong you want these changes to be during the day and during the night. Of course,, it's not going to be perfect for graphic designers or anyone relying on seeing colours accurately, but it can be disabled for periods of an hour. I'm finding it really helpful.

It basically has only two presets- on and off. Some people say you could change the screen presets manually, but I don't think most people would remember to change it.

No worries. I've found it useful, so it made sense to pass along.

I'd like to add as a reminder for those less used to computers - reducing the brightness is also very important. Fn+Left Arrow are the usual hotkeys for that.
