There Will be Blood....

200 years from now, planet Earth has been stricken by poverty, disease, pollution and war. What was once a beautiful, natural planet, with flowing hills and rushing water, is now a barren technological wasteland. Mankind, despite the near destruction of their planet, was unwilling to stop in their ways, and continued to build advanced cities, with recycled air and artificial water. Over time however, pockets of the population began to grow weary of the fake lifestyle, and sought means to end it.

In the year of 2234, a small group of people consisting of about 200, approached the United Americas with a plan to reverse engineer the planet, and undo damage done. Time was short as only one piece of the planet remained intact, in the former British territories. This fertile land could possibly give birth to a new Earth if used properly, as all the genetic codes were intact. However, when the UA heard the proposal, they immediately refused it and gave no reasons as to why. By the year of 2235, the 200 people that had proposed this saving of the planet, had all mysteriously died due to accidents one way or another. The general public was never told anything, and to the public, it seemed if only average people had died by average accidents.

2237 was a year of decision for the planet Earth. A final, devastating war broke out among the 5 main nations of the planet. The war lasted only three months, but by then, nearly 85% of the world's population was destroyed due to new war machines and weapons, secrets of the government. Nothing natural of the Earth survived, and the only habitable region was in the UA, in a massive domed city, where crime and poverty ran wild. Soon after, disease broke out, and by 2238, only 10% of Earth's population survived. In a last ditch effort, the UA government began work on a top secret project codenamed Project Life. The goal of the project, was to create a manned space vehicle capable of traveling at FTL speeds, in hopes to colonize a distant world discovered years ago by astronomers. The technology was available for man to travel into space, though it was limited to the solar system.

2248 marked the end of the time of Earth, and the beginning of the New Era. After consistent successful test, the UA government launched a spacecraft carrier nearly 300 people and colonizing materials. The Spacecraft Life successfully made the jump to FTL and arrived at the new world in under a year. During the travel time, the UA begin work on creating a fleet of FTL capable ships, ones to carry the rest of the population to this new green planet.

In 2251, the unexpected happened. It was early summer time on the New World, and the New World Order (NWO) had attempted to make their weekly communication with Earth. To their surprise, their was no answer. Only one colony ship had arrived since the time of the first mission, and seven more ships were en route. The NWO promptly attempted communication with the other seven ships, but to no avail. After trying for two months, the NWO gave up, and re-focused their efforts on building a new civilization.

By the year of 2292, the planet Earth was all but forgotten, and the New World was into its second generation. Utilizing raw materials found on the planet, the people managed to build a thriving civilization, which grew from merely 600 people, to over 20,000 people. The technological achievements of the planet Earth had been put to good use, and in vowing not to destroy this world, all weapons were forbidden on the New World, to preserve its peace, and it's beautiful natural qualities, and to preserve the human race.

In 2293, NWO satellites detected an object near the planet's moons. Unable to determine what it was, the NWO sent up a manned craft to investigate. What the team discovered was astonishing. It was the Life IV, one of the original colony ships that were deemed lost over 40 years earlier. The ship was in ruins, and corpses lined the interior. But perhaps it wasn't the dead bodies that scared the team the most, but the peculiar gashes all throughout the ship, and the odd scorching that covered most of the hull. The team promptly returned home, and it was decided that the ship should be destroyed, and that news of its return to be masked from the public, so as not to alarm them. The NWO authorized the secret use of the NG-20 missile, a high powered, ultimate destruction style weapon. The carcass of the Life IV was promptly destroyed, and no knowledge was ever leaked to the public.

The New World continued to thrive, and the human race had adapted one of peace and tranquility, crime and disease became rare, and eventually to the point of non-existence. For the first time, scientists truly investigated the planet. It was the discover of a certain Dr Louis Brookes that was perhaps the most important of their time. He discovered that the New World's plant-life, emitted a toxin into the air as part of its respiratory system. This toxin was determined to counterbalance areas of the human brain, where rage ran wild, and had extraordinary healing qualities, such that disease was nearly eradicated. The life expectancy increased by about 20 years on the average human being, and life was in its peak. This era became known as the Time of Healing.

By the year of 2245, the human population had blossomed and was close to ten million. Human achievement was never greater, discoveries in art, philosophy and technology were made since the original landing. It had been nearly 100 years since they had originally landed on the new world and the NWO had now developed space exploration units, and satellite telescopes which could see deeper into space then ever before. Exploration teams were sent to the other 7 planets in the New World solar system, and the discoveries were phenomenal. The natural resources of each of the planets was mind-boggling. Some were natural type planets, ones with plant-life that could heal any wound, ones with the raw materials to build more durable spacecraft, and the most important of all, the discovery of Nitro-titanium. Nitro-Titanium when in liquid form, proved to create exceptional speed and made perfect fuel for FTL travel. With this new discovery, the NWO began outfitting their ships with FTL drives superior to those originally made that were used to colonize the New World. The new fuel allowed the jump to Earth to be made in a matter of days as opposed to a year. But as they say, curiosity killed the cat.

2347 was the year the NWO decided to put the mystery of the fate of Earth behind them. With new ships built and outfitted with FTL drives, it was decided that a return trip to Earth was in order, to decide what had happened to the rest of the planet, and to what happened with the other colony ships 100 years ago. A team of daring people were assembled. They were trained in combat using resources brought on the Life mission and through knowledge and technique passed down through the ages. Eager and brave, the young travelers set out on their journey across the stars, to be the first to discover the planet Earth. The journey only took three days, but the world waited anxiously.

On the day the Earth I exited FTL, the NWO tried to contact it. There was no response. Fearful that a mishap had occurred with the FTL drvive, the satellites were trained in Earth's direction, yet Earth could not be seen as it was out of range. Still hopeful, they waited some more, rationalizing that perhaps they simply hadn't come out of FTL yet. On Day 5, the New World changed forever. On that day, a single message from Earth I was received. A video transmission, extremely distorted, and post-marked 5 days earlier, showed a bloodied member of the expedition. The background was the Earth I, being torn to pieces by something. the frantic sender turned to the camera and uttered run phrase - "Do not return!!!!" The transmission was cut short, as a brutal beast grabbed the sender with a claw like appendage, and ripped his torso in half. The message went blank. Then it came back on, but this time, it was not a human who was the sender. "We have found you now" the beast said tauntingly before the screen went blank.

An astronomer rushed into the room just after the message faded, and the government officials still sat shocked and dumbfounded.

"You're not gonna believe this" the astronomer said frantically, "our satellites show a large number of what we think are ships, they're headed in our direction, they look like they've come from earth!"

The year is 2348, and the New World is for the first time in its history at war, except not with themselves, but an alien race, who has claimed Earth. There intentions are unknown, except that they have overwhelming numbers and superior technology. The fate of the human race, is in our hands. Choose your side.
