Re: Upload issue
Do you have firewall/antivirus stuff? That may be blocking it.

Nor do I, but I try while being polite, ok... besides... it's my job...
Re: Upload issue
well, i could say some nasty things to you two, but i won;t for sake of keeping an example, and one of them is helping newer people. and besides, it wasn't that generic a question, sure i had to ask him to specify a little, but i still understood that it was more than just "is your computer plugged in?"
Re: Upload issue
those kind of questions are asked to me every single day. naturally i grow bored.Darkwing wrote:but i still understood that it was more than just "is your computer plugged in?"

Re: Upload issue
usually, if you want some useful answers you should start by supplying some useful info.
what files do you want to upload?
what sites did you try?
how did you try?
did you use any programs?
what OS are you using?
what internet do you have?
how are you connected to the internet?
DO you have internet?
have you consulted google?
have you consulted official help?
have you consulted help wikis?
have you consulted any RELEVANT forums / users / help suppliers?

Re: Upload issue
I try to upload pictures then text files (actual upload not like copy paste) then videos. I try mega upload, image shack, My space, face book, most any that i could find. I am using XP. I try by pressing the "Browse" button. I am using fire fox.

I could transfer files to my laptop or my other desktop but I would like to fix the problem with my main computer.

Re: Upload issue
ok, image shack is only for images (jpg, png, bmp, etc) (logically, no?) never had any experience with megaupload so far. myspace, facebook and sites like that aren't meant to upload stuff.
transferring files via from one pc/laptop to another via a network ain't uploading, that is sharing.
for what do you want to upload stuff? you mean like putting an image online so you can show it here, or putting stuff on the net so you (and only you) can access it later from another?
what does it return, what does it say, what tells you you can't upload?

Re: Upload issue
oops, i forgot to put some important starter questions: firewall settings, virus scanner settings? (and program)
is there any difference with internet related stuff between your laptop and your PC? stuff like firewalls, virus scanners, wireless or wired connection, modem/router, even direct connection?
also, very important: ARE YOU ABSOLUTELY fruit POSITIVELY SURE you don't have a virus/trojan/malware?
(note. if your pc behaves erratic at times while while connected to the internet, refuses to do other certain actions, constantly gives pop-up warnings from the bottom left corner like "obviously fake antivirus software has found baddies in your pc while we're not even installed, download this obviously fake antivirus program with 100 free viruses and trojans to get rid of it" stuff, then you DO have a problem. if this is the case i will have to give some other advice.)
anyway, if i got it right, you try to upload stuff and something like this happens:
Leach: "jay! let's upload some stuff!"
random file uploading /file host site: "okay, (logged in) file please?"
you: *browses and chooses file*
PC: *closes browsing window and enters data*
site: *loads*
site: *loads*
site: *loads*
site: *loads*
site: *loads*
leach 10 minutes later: "FU!" *beats PC*
