Well, because some HKEY on windows XP didn't work, and I can't find the install CD, so, I am now using a live CD of ubuntu to recover most of my docs and downloading to latest version of ubuntu! Now... see us in hell Microsoft! (I hope).

meh, you know there's a funny thing with my current PC, it only accepts one boot drive... either the cd or my first harddrive, which caused me to have to change stuff in the bios when installing from cd.

So, you know what to do... get linux and start messing up with bios! Mine has at least 3 boot drives! the diskette drive, the cd drive and the hard-drive, by this order...

don't matter how much that would be ideal, Linux doesn't mess with the bios. besides, it's actually my brother's PC, so i'm not pulling that stuff on this one.

technically, it should be able to have 4 boot drives according to my bios, but it only accepts one.

I've got two harddisks, one of which with the boot partition on it, one CD drive and one Floppy - Mini memory card drive.

i think the problem is the RAID controller, the driver is #$*&ed up, however, that should not matter to the bios...

yes i've got everything from 98 to XP. and i do have a Fedora DVD (although no DVD drive... yet.) and several Red Hat CDs.

also i've got a copy of an harddrive with an installation of windows 3.11 on cd... i wonder if it would work with my next generation PC? Razz
