(( I haven't posted this yet cause it's been a while since I last updated it... But I'm going to start updating it more often now. I don't mind any comments here... I'll post the intro here and then give you all a few links to the specific pages on my Gaia Online journal where I keep the story updated. ))

CHAPTER 1 : Identity

Trystan sat up in her bed quickly with a gasp. The nightmare she had was near unbearable... The sounds of screaming people as their flesh was burned off. She quickly forgot it like most others would, but it would be very difficult to get back to sleep after that. What was it though? What did she dream about?

She chose to ignore it and look out her window fearfully. The night sky was no longer clear this night, rain dropping heavily onto the windows, making an eerie noise throughout the house.

Trys was about 12 years old, but she knew she shouldn't wake her parents up on the basis of a dream. They were having major family trouble. She watched one night as her father and mother got into a fight and mother left but shortly thereafter returned. But it was scary to think what would happen... Would one of them finally break and Trystan would never see them again? Or was that just her deepest fear?

A shadow caught her attention on the nearest wall away from the window, having been cast through the moonlight outside. It was like a blur and when she turned to look out the window she saw nothing. When she looked back at the wall, the shadow was gone. Her heart beat faster: This neighborhood had become a freak-show after moving in. She wished they had never had to move here. She rarely had nightmares until she came here and now that she did, she was a scared wreck everywhere she went. Many of the other residents in the town had become accustomed to it and attributed it to parts of life around them, but Trys just couldn't throw away what she felt... Something wasn't right.

A bump on the ceiling made her jump from bed, but she still stayed absolutely quiet. If this was Christmas, maybe she would be more excited, but it was a cold and dreary night, and she didn't feel like santa would be visiting her today. She could hear her own breathing and the rain, but that was it. That was how she wanted it to be.

She stopped herself from getting out of bed and running down the hallway. She laid back down and stared out the window for a few minutes before looking up at the ceiling, hoping whatever that was out there had just gone away. She listened but no new sounds were picked up... Sighing, she closed her eyes and tried to doze off into an uncomfortable sleep.

She then opened them and barely let out a scream before her skin turned pale and her eyes lifeless...

DARK ANGEL : BETRAYAL

A shadow looms ominously above the town, his silhoutte melting softly through the caress of the moon. Large black feathered wings jutted from his back and curved upward in what seemed to be a futile attempt to shield the moonlight from the town. Eyes glared a deep red at the sleeping town below him. His hand glows with a glittering grey and white smoke as he lifts it to reveal a moving orb of the same colors. He stares at it in short contemplation to his existance, before crushing the orb which caused the remaining smoke to crawl up his arm and slowly cover his entire body before resting inside the shadow's form.

With a glance at the moon and one more glance at the tops of the houses, the figure pounces from one roof and lands on another further away. Crouched on this rooftop with a hand holding him steady and in place, his breathing became slower.

His wings folded back and faded away altogether. He wouldn't require them for the rest of the night.

'My hunt is over' he thinks to himself as he continues to stare off into the town.

The time was over, and he did what he needed to do. A liquid-fissure opened in the ground between the buildings, like a black hole fitting in it's location. The figure stopped to watch it closely for a few moments... Finally, with a leap that would be only courageous to any other person, he disappeared into the darkness which had closed itself off from the rest of the world.

A pool of gray matter was turning inside a giant hole made in the ground of the cave. It was the only source of light in the cave and the only source of noise - of horrific screaming - the Dark Angel could hear. The souls that were collected were placed in this pool. The purpose being they could be used to feed the legions of hell at comfort's expense to the souls themselves.

The demon who now stood by the pool staring into it had given no thought as to the soul's emotions, and it's roaring pain only brought him pleasure. There was no today or tommorow in Hell. Everything was never, and never was always. He reached down into the pool and pulled out a soul that seemed to be struggling, not even bothering to grip it as the soul was paralyzed in fright.

"Don't play with your food" A voice spoke from behind the Dark Angel. "There's better ways to feed"

The creature turned to see who it was, crushing the soul causing a wailing scream before it faded into him. The voice was from a man clothed in a black robe with a face that women fell for... The ultimate deceit and the commander of the Vault of Hunted Souls... Eternity.

"Now, it wasn't yours to absorb" Eternity smirked and walked around the demon, who didn't turn to face him. Eternity was a dangerous demon appointed by Lucifer to control the underworld's vault. He was given one of the greatest responsibilities and he was also the care-bringer of all soul hunters. "You're growing in power... Unlike your brethren" He stops behind the Dark Angel and stares up at the creature.

"I... Don't know why" As the Dark Angel turned as his face could be seen better in the light of the soul pool. Long dark red hair draped down over a pale face, eyes contrasting darkly against his skin... Black cornea, white iris, and glowing dark red pupils. A deadly looking figure that struck fear in to all that saw him, even more so than in his full demon form. "Is there something you summoned me for?"

"Yes..." Eternity began pacing around the demon, ignoring as another wail came from the soul pool as a demon swooped out of the cave's ceiling into the pool. "Your strength..."

The Dark Angel narrowed his eyes, staring at the man who had been his care-taker for close to a million years. Eternity was also given the task of giving demons the access to the soulpool to feed. When a mortal spoke of the flames of Hell, they didn't realize how it was the digestion of their souls.

Eternity stopped and looked into the eyes of the the same creature of darkness he took care of... But nothing like the true darkness Eternity had control over. "You are hereby stripped of all your powers and are ordered by the great Baal himself to be executed at once" Other demons began stepping from the walls and melting out of the ground from the shadows.

"And you would doubt my loyalty?" The Dark Angel steps forward, the other demons becoming tensed as though ready to strike.

Eternity looked to the ground. "I'm sorry. But it has to be done" The other demons begin moving in closer, opening the palms of their hands to prepare the spells of the shadow, magic that only the warriors of the underworld could themselves hold.

But in that long moment, the Dark Angel held his gaze on Eternity. Then he turned, walking back in the direction of the exit that would take him out of the dark realm, being blocked by the demons.

Then he turns and immediately swings his arm with him, flowing his body to grow greater in agility and speed, opening his wings and shooting forward into the ceiling which opened itself into a black portal, sending the Dark Angel out into the starry skies of Earth. The other creatures followed shortly behind, one smashing into the Dark Angel and throwing him to the ground, between several buildings, though he immediately jumped back onto his feet as the other demons landed, one immediately launching a fist that was encompassed by a black flame.

The Dark Angel opened a hand and grabbed the flying fist, bringing the same black flames to cover his hands and throwing an uppercut with his free hand, knocking the other demon into the air, but leaving himself open to another quick strike from another demon. Quickly regaining himself after yet another one of the demons struck him, he jumped into the air and almost as quickly began throwing the flames at the demon. The demons were all so surprised by this, the one the Dark Angel was aiming for had stood in fear as the flame hit him square on.

More and more demons began coming out of the ground, the town still quiet and asleep, humans oblivious to the demons around them. The Dark Angel was knocked back into a nearby building and then thrown into the sky once more as the demon that did all of this almost as quickly as a short flash flew up beside him. But the Dark Angel pressed an open palm forward once again and shot another one of the flames point blank into the demon exploding it's head causing a shadow to leave the demon and disappear in the ground, the body itself melting into the ground like another liquid black shadow.

Knowing he was outnumbered, the Dark Angel quickly came up with one last tactic... He reached up with one flame-covered hand and threw himself hard towards the ground, embedding his hand into the bricks of the crossway as he landed, sending a burst of black flames from the ground that split into seperate fireballs and rammed into each demon, throwing them off for now.

Breathing heavily and sweating, the exiled demon fell to one knee trying to keep from looking weak as he knew Eternity was somewhere watching him. Suddenly a shadow grew from an alley the Dark Angel was facing, encompossing all the buildings and slowly moving towards him. As nothing was in the sky causing this, the soul hunter knew what it was. He immediately stood and fell back to one knee.

He immediately stands back up nearly falling forward again, but he catches himself just in time. Then he spreads his wings out far once again letting them launch him into the air. The shadow grew from the ground like a tunnel and began to follow him as he flew backwards for a minute to keep an eye on the thing.

When he's certain it was catching up with him, he flies normal and looks around. He had flown outside the city and was now over a non-inhabited forest. The creature behind him had begun to grow to even greater heights, frightening anyone that was in it's way though they would wake up the next dawn thinking it was nothing but a nightmare. What excuses humans would make to ignore the truth...

The Dark Angel sees a nearby apartment building in the rural country, and flies backwards once more, opening another palm and launching a shadow flaming projectile towards the thing. It breaks apart for a mere second before reassembling itself and moving faster, a face growing out of the front of the shadow, screaming fiercly as it chased it's prey. That was all the time the Dark Angel needed as he flew through a ceiling into one of the buildings, where the shadow smashed into the roof and grew to cover the building, unable to get in...

But Eternity stood right outside watching the shadow try unfruitfully to get inside. "You cannot hide forever" His eyes searched the building. "One day, you will be found, and Hell will overpower you. Master Baal will receive what he wishes, whether you will give it to him willfully or if I have to present you to him personally"
