Honestly, I've never been so politically apathetic. This year nearly all the Republican candidates weren't that good (save perhaps Dr. Ron Paul, but nobody voted for him anyways) and all the good Democrats have been left out. Honestly, I can say for certain that I really don't care who becomes president this time as long as they are better than Bush.

And Hillary Clinton has already had her eight-year iron fist reign of terror alongside her husband, Bill Clinton. John McCain can't even be defined as a conservative. Barack Obama is
new on the scene and probably has little/no experience. I suppose the 2008 election is something more or less like a "lesser of two evils" kind of thing.

In a strange sort of way, I suppose I would prefer McCain. He is the best fairly moderate candidate I've known for a bit, and wouldn't just pull out straight from Afghanistan and Iraq.

Definitely. I'm leaning towards McCain because he doesn't approve of a timetable withdrawal from Iraq. I believe you should leave Iraq/Afghanistan to the military leaders who know what they are doing WITHOUT political interference.

Afghanistan definitely needs help. 98% of opium stil comes from there, yet there is a chance of a stable government forming. i don't think we can stop Iraq from becoming a vassal of Iran though. Either I breaks up, or it accepts aid/loans from Iran and asks the US and Britain to leave behind closed doors.

The invasion of Afghanistan I can support because of Bin Laden, but he's probably moved into some place like Pakistan by now. Funny thing is, the USA creates it's own problems. We placed Saddam Hussein in power in Iraq. We gave weapons to the Taliban. Now, 20 years later, our actions come back to haunt us. The next president has to solve these problems and not create more problems.

well, it's like that with anything really. 50 years ago they didn't care about anything (in a way), and now we have to clean up the global warming mess they left us. not to say it's all their fault, we sure helped polute the world too, but things like nuclear radiation and stuff like that wasn't as, i don't know, threatening to them.

doesn't matter if he'd die, there would still be somebody to take his place. all of these fanatic groups are the same in some ways, they all want power. Stalin was the same way. of course, when he died, the russians did weaken, but i think that's because russian history has some interesting events that happened in it.

'Cause the US is the most powerful country in the world right now. That's subject to change if the EU becomes a single political entity, but that's probably not happening any time soon.

Canada's simply too large. I would only support annexation if it was absolutely necessary AND Canada agrees to it as well. I can't see that happening, though... We don't have socialized health care.
