Mallor's smile quickly disappeared from his face.
"Aw... I wanted to finish him! oh well..."
Mallor stepped forward, reversed his gun and slammed the butt of it against the the edge of the skull behind Rotakon's ear. He lifted him up and swung him over his shoulders. He jogged towards River's ready room and thought about Terra and Leia. He hoped that Leia had the presence of mind to cloak herself when somebody came bursting in.

Suddenly a torpedo came from nowhere, hit the shields...
"Sir! A Plasma torpedo has just hitted us! Shields are down to 75%" Said I "We've lost thirteen shield facing emiters... We have now 87 remaining..."

Rotakon groaned, but did not answer.
"Hmm... he seems a bit silent... maybe we should try to, ehm, 'persuade' him to be a bit more talkative."
Mallor removed his gun from Rotakon's neck and buried a nail in his neck skin. when he saw a drop of blood welling up he smiled.

*Rotokan looked a little curious at what Rivers had said. Rivers put his robotic arm on Rotokan. Suddenly, a shock of neural electricity passed from Rivers' arm into Rotokan. He yelled out, in both shock and pain*

"When she's better I should really ask her to make some new gadgets for me..."
He squatted in front of the Prisoner which had sunken to the floor.
"Now you may have noticed we indeed do not care a lot about the prime directive. Probably i do even less than my dear friend the captain. Personally i would already have severed your neck, but i was ordered to keep you in a state that wouldn't affect your memory or vital functions, which does make me quite disappointed. Don't disappoint us any further, or i might just have may still."

*Rivers and Mallor exited the ready room, locking the door. Rivers took Mallor near the turbolift and whispered to him*
Mallor, we haven't had much chance to talk. Something's happening, I don't quite know what, but there's more to this then the personal vendetta of this Berges. Terra, section 31, they're intertwined in some way, just how, i don't know. They probably don't even know it yet, but this Kalaindra, Kalaindra, why does it seem soo familiar...?

"Yeah, it vaguely reminds me of something too... Trouble in section 31 to be exact. I've been checking yesterday, but I've found nothing in the section31 archives... However section 31 is known for their annoying habit of internal struggles, with occasional partial archive wipes to delete compromising history."

*Rivers headed back to his command chair*

Damage report

Lt: Sir, shields were knocked down to about 80percent with that last shot, possibly due to our proximity to the dominion ship. There was a power rupter on deck 12, and the power regenerators are working at 100 capacity. Shields will be fully operational in about 20 minutes.

Me: Very good. Mallor, perhaps you should check on ... injured crew members

Mallor turned around and walked to the scanner panel. Amazingly, all crew status blips said 'Healthy'. He turned around, walked out of the doors towards the medical bay, where the only ones which didn't have such status blip were. He walked towards the door, slipped a small black card in his hand, swooped it past the door panel to override the lock from the inside, and walked inside.
"Hello ladies."
He saw Kalliandra and stopped still in his pace.
"Oops."
He saw Kalliandra slowly turning towards him, and he smiled.
"Good morning, commander."

"First time adressing me by my status I see. Well, can you explain what LEIA is doing here?!" Kaliandra yelled at Mallor. She began to pace as she tried to figure something out in her head.

Terra groaned in her sleep, being plagued by various nightmares.

"She seems to be getting better, than worse.... I can't figure out what is wrong with her." Kaliandra sat in the chair next to the bed and put her head into her hands.

Mallor walked over and laid his hand on Terra's hand.
"I know what's wrong with her. It's the after effects from the belt. it will take some time until she's completely over it, but it will improve soon. It can't get mmuch worse now.

"How are we..." Said I "We've a bad contact on Rivers room..."
"What... What's happening?" Asked I
"The sensor is detecting an intruder..."

Kaliandra looked worried and kept glancing at Terra. "She hasn't gotten better. It has been 2 weeks since we took the belt off. What else could be afflicting her? And last I heard, Terra was up for the position for Queen as soon as she returned? Leia, do you still contact with Terra's ship? It was supposed to rendezvous with the Darkwing about now, but there has been no sign except the burning hulks of some Federation ships."

Terra coughed and everyone looked at her. "I'm fine, it's just some side effect from prolonged use of the belt...." Terra coughed again and went back to sleep.

Kaliandra started pacing again. "See? She sleeps and eats. That's all she can do. She doesn't have the strength to do much else."

"I'm not surprised. It took almost half a year with me. Although i have to admit i didn't rest at all, i just kept on working hard without taking a rest."
Mallor reached in his pockets and rummaged about untill he found something.
"Ah, here. Let her sniff this aerosol and at least she'll have more energy. It's what kept me going for quite a long while. One warning though, don't use too much, or she'll get in a very giddy mood, and Terra in a giddy mood is kinda, well... ...embarrassing."
Mallor smiled and gave it to Kaliandra. A small glittering appeared in his eyes as he watched Kalliandra apply it to Terra.

A few hours had passed and Terra made an almost full recovery, but still had some dizzy spells. They made their way, Leia cloaked, towards the bridge and Terra looked at Rivers.

"What have I missed?" She asked Rivers.

"Ok... Ready... three, Two, one..." And I pushed the button... The door openned and the team entered... We checked every inch of Rivers room... there was nothing there...
"Ok... Security center, we had a false alarm... there's nothing here..." Said I while thinking on a good explanation to give the captain of why did I brake his room...

(urgh, now i see. dang... i'm used to captains who use their quarters as ready rooms and the other way round...)

Mallor grabbed his PADD and prepared to scan the room when something occurred to him. Leia was standing right behind him, he didn't want to uncover her. Instead of it he activated the quarters' integrated phaser sweep system and bathed the whole room in a betraying and painful light that would reveal anything that might have hidden there.

"Nothing. must be a scanner malfunction. Let's just lock the room and all systems in it, then even if there is something it can't do any harm. It's not like the captain has ever used his quarters anyway. Besides, I think we got a guest which we forgot to attend to..."

Terra sat at her computer, ignoring the stares she got by the other crew, and began to copy the schematics of the ship. She felt better, thanks to Mallor and Kaliandra, and she was focusing on her work. Kaliandra said she had some business to take care of and that she would help Terra out when she got done. Terra wondered why the belt had such a horrible side effect.. No one else ever reported having trouble with it. Suddenly images flashed through her head and she screamed out through the pain of the images then sat up.
"I'm fine, I'm fine. Just a slight relaspe." She said, and went back to work.

Kaliandra sealed the door and turned to look at Leia.
"Something is wrong with Terra. I know the belt doesn't cause what happened to Terra. You or Mallor know something, and I need to know now. Whatever is afflicting her is killing her. I can see it in her eyes. You must know what is wrong, so TELL ME!!" Kaliandra told her with anger as tears streamed down her face.

Rivers beckoned for security, and they took Rotokan to the high security brig. Rivers sat down and activated his PADD. He was reading the mission statement, the one that Williams and the Admiral had created before their deaths. First line of defense, of the impending attack. The one that had been brewing for centuries. Rivers was a soldier, a freedom fighter. It was coming back now. The wars he had been through, the first war was the worst. Death, it was so painful, and it was always vivid in his memory. But perhaps worse then death, was waking up after you had died. The pain he had endured, just for that ounce of immortality. Rivers fought for a cause, he had forgotten the cause, a long time ago, but he was remembering...*

Terra pulled up a chair and sat down and looked over at Rivers.

A ship jumped into warp at some unknown part of the galaxy and was heading straight towards the Darkwing Mark II's location.
????: ETA
Ensign: We will arrive at destination in 1700 hours.
????: Good, inform me when we arrive. I'll be in my quarters.
Ensign: Yes Captain.

*An hour later, Rivers had left his room. The last he had seen of Terra, was her fleeing, tears in her eyes. He hadn't intentionally meant to hurt her. All that had happened was in the past, long in the past, and why bring it up, just because you remember it suddenly. Rivers knew what he had to do, knew what he was engineered to do, yet he had given her time. Why he asked himself. He had the answer, sitting in his room, and he let it escape, again, for a second time. The third time he vowed, the third would be the final. The third, it was going to be either him or her, and he knew that was the only way it could turn out. All of those centuries, all culminating to, when? Soon....*

Mallor uttered a constant stream of curses. why the hell did those idiots place a generic commercial circuit set in such an important position? no wonder all the scanners were screwed up. the whole issue was that he didn't have the right replacement parts, unless he contacted the vixerian forces, something he would rather avoid. he crawled back out the duct and decided it didn't matter anyway.

He kicked against the wall and put the panel back. he looked at his watch and discovered it was the end of his shift, so he checked out and walk to his room. when he opened the door he noticed several foxes sitting on the only piece of furniture he ever used, his bed.

(yes, slight bit of autoing, terra, but i feel we should keep things a bit more clean and finish ot merge at least one part of the subplot(s) )

Terra sat in her room, crying. Rivers... he was her mother's savior, and yet he was the destroyer of the original Vixerian fleet... Her emotions battled out and raged inside of her. She didn't know what to do anymore.

*Rivers found a chronometer and checked the time. He still had three minutes to change his mind and go back for her, before she left for good. Always watching him they had been. Always suspicious. Probably with good reason. When you are the traitor in a rebellion, when you're the voice of reason that no one will listen to, then it makes it difficult. And when no one listens, one's actions tend to be drastic, if not catastrophic. How had he forgotten so much? There were still some pieces missing to the puzzle.

Rivers found himself at the bridge, with only one minute before she was to leave. The crew watched him expectantly, they had no idea the mess he was in. Rivers tried to dig back, how had he gotten this assignment again. Why the Darkwing? Was it his unorthodox measures, or his dark past. What did Williams and the Admiral know about him. What devious plot were they involved in before their deaths? Rivers got to wondering who had actually killed them. How had it happened, in a business like this, everything is in secrecy, everything.

Rivers was so far off in thought, that he hadn't seen the Section 31 ship warp into view. It wasn't until he was slapped in the face by a timid ensign that he came back to reality. Rivers glanced around, embarrased at daydreaming*

Situation?

Lt: It's that Section 31 ship sir, and it looks like they want to talk this time

Sec 31: No, unfortunately, though I think we should sometime, we have soo much fun stuff to catch up on. Take the rebellion

*Rivers looked up shocked, but quickly collected his cool*

Me: Haven't been any rebellions in a while Robert

Sec 31: No, there haven't, but it looks like there might be one on the horizon of your beloved Federation, a particular Berges

Me: Cut the chatter Robert, what do you want, what have you wanted. I seem to remember you having my arm cut off not too long ago, just to get the location of this ship, now what are you after

Sec 31: Well, you see, I'm after a piece of the action. There's a war coming, a nasty one, and I want to be on some tropical planet, without a care in the world

Me: With naturally the best defense system in the galaxy, the Darkwing

Sec 31: You think of me in such trivial terms. look, I'll cut to the chase, I won't let on to Mallor or any of your other wolfy friends, if...

Me: Wait, what? What are you talking about? Mallor, what's he got to do with anything

Sec 31: Oh, you don't know how unfortunate. I think we should have that talk Rivers. I'll expect you here in half an hour, and don't bring any friends

Me: What the hell makes you think I'm beaming over there

Sec 31: We've got operatives everywhere you know, in high and in low places. See, with a single command, I could have your ship blown to pieces from the inside, so unless you follow my demands....

*The screen went blank, and everyone looked at Rivers. Rivers headed for the turbolift*

Put Mallor in charge, listen to him, no matter how bizarre. You probably won't be seeing me for a while, it's probably better...

*Rivers headed off to the transporter room.*
