RP Ideas

Ok, so as we can tell, Divide and Conquer didn't go over so well. In fact it didn't even start.
So is there anything else anybody might be interested? As Vedic stated, perhaps one in a pre-existing universe?

i would play pretty much any sci fi series rp. Except babylon 5, as i know nothing about it.

It is true that our Trek RPs are the most successful on average

I'm gonna go out on a limb and suggest something entirely different and not sci-fi. Quite the opposite, actually.

How about a fantasy medieval era? Feudalism, dragons, magic, and all that jazz.

How about a modern combat situation???? I really like thoose and based on most games there the most popular at the moment.

A fantasy RP hm? These have been suggested before here but I've always been a tad skeptical of them working out here. But supposing we did one, storyline. What would it be?

fantasy storyline... maybe 2 warring factions? not necessarily light and dark, but maybe one like order and the other like chaos? and there's a god for each that can intervene? just throwing stuff out there.

Well fantasy works best with magic, myths and legends, so we need to play up that side I think, y'know, the one ring sorta deal

We also have the option of more than 1 Rp open at a time too

I'm trending more toward the idea of many, many factions (assuming we have many, many players of course,) each of which is a lord and his forces, magical or not. Alliances are made one day and broken the next. Think pre-Bismarck Germany: hundreds upon hundreds of little, minor principalities and "kingdoms" and such and a few big states, in the Germany example it's Prussia and Austria. Extreme fragmentation, at any rate.

Not to be cheesy or cliche, but a bigger evil thing would, I guess, be a reason for all the warring states to unify to fight a common enemy (Old Gods? Demons? etc.) Of course, politics and old enmities will cause problems, but these are just layers of the entire situation. I'll edit this post when I think of more, too tired to think right now.

The advantage if the RP was based off Philly's idea is that it allows NPC foreign power intervention, eg. France, Sweden. Although I don't think carrying out the Thirty Years' War would be possible, it could be made as complex or as simplistic as player numbers dictate.

Well, we have a few possibilities as I see it. One is it's a sort of medieval time period on earth with the proper nationalities. Another is inventing our own fictitious land (Middle Earth basically) that is made of tribes, kingdoms etc. A third possibility is to throw a bit of sci-fi in and make it happen on another planet. Basically the latter two options are interchangeable as it's sort of irrelevent where it takes place if it is a made up land

i don't really want it to be on a pre-existing land.a fictional land/planet would be better IMO. Maybe on another planet and the common enemy could be aliens?

Not trying to be an Ass but if it's Fantasy, I'll likely not play.

Likewise, if it's just Trek-based, I probably won't play.

And like I said, we have the option of doing two RPs at once, to appeal to a broader audience

Well as I've said in the past, it's probably best to stay out of RPs based on video games, basically because unless it's Halo, I don't know squat about the universe.
Right now, I say we focus on this fantasy RP and then maybe develop a Trek like one afterwords

It will not be an RP based on a VG, however I am taking ideas from things like Dragon Age, Lord of the Rings and fantasy in general.
