Oh dear, here comes my nationalism....
If Swedish was a minority language in your country, would you just give up on it? Welsh language is indistinguishable from Welsh culture, and without it we might as well be English.

to be back on topic, i'm either a webcomic artist earning my money with it, a famous artist in any other fashion, workless or dead by then. i don't know anything for my future really. i'm really a bad planner. i take things as they are at every moment.

GUYS (and girl)
there's something wrong with the quote function, i tried to quote alka and got a thingy quote instead, so i had to do it manually. :S

Strange. It worked fine for me in this case. And really, I'm still not sure what I want to do in life. I just go with the flow, but I really do want to be a musician.

Yeah, you clicked the qoute button above alka, it's position has changed to below his post.
Also, so i dont get the thread derailed for the 3rd time.
I'll be a ground combat officer and if my eye sight is good enough when i've finished basic officer training, a recon/combat specialist officer. Either that or i fail on the basic training tests and have to do them again after some hard excercise, which would mean i'd have to choose something other than recon/combat specialisation.

a simple PHP databse problem is probably the source, i think. did DW change to a different PHPBB forum format or something?
i thinbk so, because suddenly the size button works again too...

Re: What do you see yourself doing in 10 years?
Err...You're 17. You havent experienced it first hand. unless your dad was a soldier...But wouldnt that be second hand? And there's alot of people who have survived the experience and returned home to sweden without too much mental damage. Only a few come home with serious mental damage, and most of the time they get good therapy.

Re: What do you see yourself doing in 10 years?
according to SWEDISH law maybe.Thingy wrote:Err...You're 17. You havent experienced it first hand.
i got my drafting letter at 16.
anyway, yes, my dad was a soldier, and if you intend to have kids later, then don't be a soldier. first of all, it reduces your fertility, second, it reduces the chance that your kid is actually yours, third, it reduces the time you'll ever get to see your kid, which means that when you retire your children will be pretty much like "who the F is that man?"

Re: What do you see yourself doing in 10 years?
16? wow, that must be lowest drafting age in the western world. And also not a good idea, most people arent mature enough at 16.
But no, i'm not planning to have any kids. I dont like other people's kids, so having to take care of a tiny slime covered thing for 10 years wouldnt be very fun.
It's not like you cant have kids if you're in the military though, they cant call you in on service abroad unless you apply for it yourself. The law says that, and it's most likely not going to change by the time i've completed officer training.

but the logic is quite simple: if you're old enough to marry, have kids or drink yourself to oblivion you're old enough to hold a gun.
... that's just twisted. when you go into the military, you have to expect and accept to be sent abroad. otherwise, don't go in the military. it's pretty much law here that you are sent abroad at least once in service. and you can be sent abroad in any circumstances, even when you just had a kid or are about to. i know some other people who saw his kid for the first time when she was three months old.Thingy wrote:It's not like you cant have kids if you're in the military though, they cant call you in on service abroad unless you apply for it yourself. Re: What do you see yourself doing in 10 years?
Not really, we dont need alot of people on missions abroad. We just run around the place shoving the flag down random people's throats, keep aid deliveries safe all the way to their targets and just drive around the place for no reason.
Plus we're OK with just sitting on the side and send in some aid and soldiers to keep it safe once in a while, if we were invaded, all soldiers would be called in to defend.

Well... it's actually been more than 10 years since I said this. The funny thing is, I wasn't in college 10 years after I made this post! I had graduated with my Bachelors and was waiting to go to grad school, which now I'm currently in. I'm in the PhD program for planetary science, and I'm hoping to become a professor.
If anyone who posted in this thread shows up, I'd like to see where you are today and how it differs from where you thought you'd be 10 years ago
(P.S. Today's my 24th birthday. I came here intentionally because I remembered the birthday greeting on this site! lol)
EDIT: I've made a post on this forum in three different decades. That's kinda scary.

Re: What do you see yourself doing in 10 years?
Three different decades? Oh my, that is terrifying! Â
I thought I was going to be in the medical field, but here I am in IT and life safety work. I love it though. I won't do anything else!
I recently completed a COVID-19 hospital refit under the US Army Corps of Engineers, and I'm still keeping busy.
I got married late last year, and I'm happier than ever!
And here we are guys, in 2020. I hope everyone survives the pandemic! I've already had a very mild case of the virus. If you or your loved ones get it, I hope they have as easy of a time as I did.
Stay safe, old friends!

Congrats DJ!!! Glad to hear you are happy and well!!!
The virus isn't too bad where I'm at, but I know that could change at any time. Just gotta do as much as we can to prevent it and hope and pray that these times will pass quickly. We are definitely living through history!
I'm glad the virus didn't hit you hard and I echo your hope that everyone is safe

college assignment help
There are papers like surveys, articles that I can't compose without help from anyone else.
Prior to composing, I need to foster my abilities. I regularly utilize a help assignment service

Speaking of Kenobi, I really enjoyed that new show! The casting choices were very good as well!

Re: What do you see yourself doing in 10 years?
I'm not usually fond of child actors, but the kid they got was pretty great. And the rest of the cast was good too. The ones reprising roles were great. And the new ones were good too. The head inquisitor was a bit hammy sometimes, but I think that was intended.

Good to see you around, Raffitz!
Agreed on Kenobi! Loved that show! Heard Andor is good too, but haven't watched that yet..

I am caught up on Andor. It starts off slowly, but builds nicely. The show takes its time to tell a story, and I enjoy that.
